  • Patent number: 11267284
Abstract: A grit dispensing device for rail vehicles, having a grit tank; a compressed air source connected to a dispensing line for the grit via a pressure line and a nozzle; an intake channel via which grit can be conveyed from the grit tank into the dispensing line; a bypass which leads from the pressure line to a point in the dispensing line downstream of the mouth of the intake channel so as to bypass the nozzle and the passage cross-section of which can be controlled by a valve; and an electronic control device for the valve, the control device being designed to open and close the valve in intervals with a frequency adapted to the length of the dispensing line in such a way that grit charges which are ejected in the individual open periods of the valve consolidate in the dispensing line to form a steady grit flow.

  • Publication number: 20130068896
Abstract: A lock for railway switch adjusting devices, including a locking member having a guide contour extending in the direction in which the switch is actuated and forms a locking seat projecting transversely from the guide contour; a locking lever hinged to an engaging tongue and carries, at the end remote from the tongue, an arresting bolt to be blocked at the locking seat; a guide bolt slidable in the guide contour; a hinge bolt connected to a remote tongue; a bearing block rotatable about the guide bolt axis and in which the arresting bolt, the guide bolt and the hinge bolt are journalled in a triangular configuration such that the arresting bolt and the hinge bolt are positioned on opposite sides of the guide contour and are closer to the engaging tongue than the guide bolt, and a spring that biases the remote tongue towards its remote position.

  • Publication number: 20120292140
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake, comprising at least one brake actuating element, which is operatively connected to a planetary-roller threaded unit and to an electrical drive in order to move the brake actuating element between a braking position and an axially offset non-braking position of the brake actuating element, wherein the planetary-roller threaded unit has a plurality of threaded roller elements distributed in the circumferential direction, the threaded roller elements being in threaded engagement with a spindle element connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the electrical drive and with a stationary housing, and wherein the threaded roller elements are rotatably arranged about the axes thereof, which are each arranged parallel to an axis of the spindle element, and about the axis of the spindle element, wherein the brake actuating element is coupled only to the spindle element.

  • Patent number: 7398867
Abstract: Azimuth brake for wind power plants, includes at least two pairs of brake shoes arranged at a common brake disk and each having an actuator associated therewith. Each actuator includes a lever that is pivotable about an axis extending normal to the plane of the brake disk, and a transmission for translating the pivotal movement of the lever into an axial engaging movement of the brake shoes against the brake disk. The levers of at least two actuators are coupled by a common drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6270041
Abstract: An apparatus for mechanically locking the end positions of movable point sections, with two adjusting rods (12, 14 ), each of which is connected with one of the point sections and which are coupled mechanically with one another, with at least one locking tappet (28) for locking the adjusting rods in each case in one of their end positions and a force limiting device, which cancels the locking, when the force, exerted by the point sections on the adjusting rods, exceeds a certain value, and the force limiting device is formed by a coupling device (30, 32), which yields when stressed and is located between the adjusting rods (12, 14), and by a transfer mechanism (16, 38), which converts the movement of one of the adjusting rods into a movement for unlocking the locking tappet (28).

  • Patent number: 5715915
Abstract: A brake for rail cars comprises a floating caliper disc brake attached to a cylindrical housing element of a drive housing. The drive housing may be the motor housing, the transmission housing or a common housing for the drive motor and the transmission. The cylindrical housing element has an opening in its peripheral wall in which the floating caliper is mounted. The actuator is mounted in an entry in the peripheral wall of the drive housing. This mounting arrangement allows easier accessiblity to the brake during servicing operations and provides for ventilation of the brake disc.
