Abstract: A hearing aid including a hearing aid housing in which is arranged a transmitter unit for transmitting signals containing information to a receiver unit which is outside of the hearing aid. The transmitter unit generates an optical signal in the visible or outside of the visible spectral range and includes a signal generator for generating the optical signal and a modulator for modulating information onto the optical signal. The hearing aid housing includes a signal exit window that is transparent to the optical signal and through which the signal penetrates. The signal exit window has an entrance surface facing the inside of the housing through which the signal enters into the signal exit window, and an exit surface that matches the external contour of the hearing aid housing through which the signal exits from the signal exit window.

Abstract: A hearing aid (1), fitted with an aperture (4) in a wall of a case (2, 3) receiving an adjustment wheel (5) which can be rotated from the outside by finger action around an axis of rotation (6) configured parallel to the wall (2), the adjustment wheel (5) driving a continuously adjustable electric volume control (7, 8), is characterized in that the adjustment wheel (5) rests in such manner at a shifting element (10) mounted in the case (2, 3) that a switch (13) shall be actuated when said wheel (5) is driven against a spring force (14) in the direction of shifting (17, 18, 19, 20).

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a behind the ear type hearing aid device is provided that includes a one piece case that defines an opening at a first end. The hearing aid also includes a carriage that supports the electrical components of the hearing aid. The carriage, including the electrical components, is easily inserted inside of case, thus, simplifying the assembly process significantly. The opening of the case is selectively closed using a door that is pivotally attached to the case. The door includes a battery compartment into which a typical disc-shaped battery fits.
