Patents Assigned to Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrik Paul Horn GmbH
  • Patent number: 7059809
Abstract: A cutting tool, in particular for the turning out of drillings, has a clamping piece (10) for fixing the tool in a clamp holder. The clamping piece (10) includes two clamping surfaces (30), which converge on each other in the direction of the one side (32) of the clamping piece (10). In the direction of the other side (34) of the clamping piece (10), the clamping surfaces extend into a roof-type surface (36). On the side of the clamping piece (10) facing away from the clamp holder, the clamping surfaces connect to a rod-like neck piece (12), which tapers in cross-section relative to the clamping piece (10). The free end of the clamping piece is connected to a cutting piece (14) as one piece, and is provided with a cutting edge (16) on the external end thereof to which a face (18) of the cutting piece (14) connects in the direction of the neck piece (12). A high degree of reinforcement for the neck piece and the cutting piece arranged on its free end with its blade or the blade edge is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6974283
Abstract: A cutting device includes a holder (10) provided with a jaw-like opening (24) on a clamping head (20) that serves to accommodate a metal-cutting tool (22). The jaw-like opening (24) is located on a longitudinal side (16) of the clamping head (20). A face (28) of the clamping head extends transverse to the longitudinal side (16), and faces a workpiece (30) that rotates during metal-cutting machining. The face (28) is provided, at least in the area in which it leads into the opening (24), with a camber (32) whose curvature corresponds to the curvature of a workpiece (30) having the largest diameter intended to be used with the cutting device.

  • Patent number: 6241429
Abstract: A holding device for machine tool inserts includes a recess delimited by clamping jaws. The recess serves as a clamping seat for the insert. The holding device also includes a slot extending the recess and having a receptacle for a spreading body of a spreader key. The slot has a half-circular expansion on one of its edges serving as a receptacle for the spreading body. The cross section of the spreading body of the spreader key is a polygon outline in the shape of an isosceles triangle whose corners are each rounded with an equal radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 6139227
Abstract: A holder for free-cutting machining tool inserts, especially for chiseling, piercing or cutting inserts, includes an essentially beam-like edge support (1) with a receiving pocket (5) constructed in its end for the blade edge inserts. Clamping jaws (9 and 11) define the narrow width of the receiving pocket (5). A slot (29) is configured in the blade edge support (1) forming a flexible pivot for moving one clamping jaw. An operating member (37) is provided for producing a clamping force in the area of the slot (29) on the movable clamping jaw (11). The operating member (37) is mounted in a bore (39) at some distance from the slot (29). The clamping force is transmitted to the movable clamping jaw (11) through a force transmission member (43) which is slidably guided in the blade edge support (1).
