Patent number: 11427392Abstract: Food packaging and beverage packaging for use in home delivery. The food packaging includes a tray having first walls that define an outer profile of the tray and second walls that are arranged to form partitions. A height of the second walls is different than a height of the first walls. The packaging includes a sealing member and a beverage container having an open end and a sidewall. The sealing member includes a first panel and a second panel and also has a first end, a second end, and first and second sides that extend between the first end and the second end. The first and the second panels are connected one another along the first side, the second side, and the second end of the sealing member. The sealing member is attached to the container by a machine having a rotatable platform and an element for heating the member.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2019Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Assignee: HEAT SEAL LLCInventors: Thomas D. Williams, Nick Sampson, Melvin S. Freedman

Patent number: 11292210Abstract: A packaging machine including a hot plate assembly adapted to fuse a length of heat-sensitive film wrapped around a package. A controller is adapted to calculate a time period the heating element is energized to fuse the length of heat-sensitive film wrapped around the package based on an initial temperature of the heating element. A hot plate status indicator is adapted to indicate at least to different statuses of operation of the packaging machine.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2018Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: HEAT SEAL LLCInventors: John McGreevey, Thomas Williams

Patent number: 10730652Abstract: A heat sealing packaging machine and method for assembling that includes a package platform for supporting a package, a film carriage carrying a supply of film material, a sealing platform adjacent the package platform and including a conveyor for laterally moving the package to be sealed to a shrink tunnel. The carriage is laterally movable to adjust the position of the film material and a lifting mechanism raises and lowers the sealing platform and the shrink tunnel. The shrink tunnel is laterally movable with respect to the sealing platform and includes a latch mechanism for locking a lateral position of the shrink tunnel.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2015Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: HEAT SEAL LLCInventors: Sean Paul Lazor, Michael Jeffrey Abbott

Patent number: 9346577Abstract: A packaging machine of the type that is used to hand-wrap a package with a stretchable film that is heat-fused/sealed. The machine includes a supply of film for wrapping a package and a hot plate mechanism for heat fusing the film after the package is wrapped. The hot plate mechanism includes a fever arm that moves a sealing platform from a raised position to a lowered, heat sealing position when the package is placed on the platform. A control circuit energizes a heating element forming part of the sealing platform and causes it to reach a desired heating temperature in 2 to 4 seconds, whereby fusing of the sealing film is achieved. An interval timer is used to control a signaling device such as a light to Indicate the machine is in a heating cycle. A separate timer, in conjunction with a temperature sensing thermistor, controls a length of time the heating element is energized and terminates power to the heating element prior to the end of a sealing Interval if a predetermined temperature is exceeded.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2010Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: Heat Seal LLCInventors: James A. Simmons, Jr., Kenneth A. Javor, Walt Ireland
