  • Patent number: 6443048
Abstract: The invention relates to a piston for a cylinder, in particular a brake piston for a brake cylinder, made of a plastic. Such a piston is improved so that the piston is not damaged by wear, and furthermore can be manufactured inexpensively within the prescribed tolerances. Furthermore contact of the hydraulic fluid with the plastic of the piston is prevented. This is achieved by the piston being provided with a container, made out of metal, which at least partially covers the outer surface of the piston and is adapted to be brought into contact with the cylinder wall.

  • Patent number: 6014986
Abstract: A valve, which opens upon a not permissible underpressure in a cooking utensil and upon a manual operation and which is stored in the lid of the cooking utensil suffices, without a valve spring and with a minimum of structural parts, when its flexible valve plate consists in one piece of a pressure part for manual operation and a seal collar, for abutment on a valve seat, and a connecting corpus therebetween. The seal collar is swivelled upon an overload on a swivel edge of the valve member and disengages from the abutment on the valve seat thus opening the valve.

  • Patent number: 5575516
Abstract: A fastening mechanism for a handle on a cooking utensil should also have a releasable design for certain uses, for example, when the cooking utensil is heated up in a closed oven. A release and subsequent reconnection of a handle thereby should be done quickly and without effort, and the fastening mechanism for the handle moreover should be easy to manufacture. The fastening mechanism uses for this purpose an operating piece, which can be adjusted transversely with respect to the longitudinal extent of a handle piece in such a fastening mechanism. During the handling of which operating piece, a locking of the handle piece on a holding piece is released, which handle piece is covered by the handle piece and is connected to the cooking utensil. A renewed slipping over of the handle piece occurs against a light resiliency resulting from a transfer slope on a spring piece which also is used for the locking.

  • Patent number: 5555604
Abstract: It is difficult in utensils manufactured by die casting or injection molding, for example cooking utensils of an aluminum alloy, to directly fasten a support arm on which in turn a handle piece can be fastened. Therefore, holding bars are needed in most cases, to which the support arm is welded or screwed. The holding bars must be inserted during casting and are during casting always in danger of being washed away. Other solutions, which do away with such holding bars, require an additional operation in order to fasten the support arm on a suitably designed attachment on the utensil. The invention avoids additional structural parts and ties a support arm during the casting operation with a specially designed holding piece into a boss.

  • Patent number: 5353475
Abstract: A handle can be attached on a cooking pot, frying pan or the like frictionally and possibly also form-lockingly without a separate connecting element, wherein the fastened handle can be released from the rigid anchoring element on the cooking utensil. Through suitable openings in the handle attachment, a separating tool can be moved between two surfaces of the two fastening pieces which surfaces face one another and, with the help of the separating tool, a jerk-free release of the handle takes place. A conventional screwdriver can be used as the separating tool.

  • Patent number: 5203465
Abstract: A lid for a cooking utensil comprising a valve-containing knob 2 rotatably supported on the lid 1. The lid 1 has a hole 3 therethrough. The valve-containing knob 2 has a venting outlet 4 which can be selectively aligned with the hole 3 in the lid 1. In order to be able to guarantee a vented position, a whistle position and also a closed position being attained utilizing a simple and reliable design of the valve-containing knob, the invention provides that the valve-containing knob 2 is supported on a central support element fastened on the lid 1 and is initially tensioned against the lid 1 by means of a initial tensioning element 5, and that the valve-containing knob 2 has a whistle opening 6 adapted to be arranged in alignment with the hole 3 in the lid 1.

  • Patent number: 5175907
Abstract: A fastening device for fastening a handle element on a cooking utensil. In order to assure an easy mounting with a simple manufacturing capability and in order to assure that the handle element even after longer use is fixedly anchored to the cooking utensil, it is provided that at least one support element is fastened to the cooking utensil, which support element has a substantially V-shaped cross section at least in one partial area. At least one cup-shaped fastening element is mounted on the handle element, which fastening element in turn is mounted onto the support element and has on the opposite inside walls a rigid holding bar and a holding spring opposite the holding bar.

  • Patent number: 4974287
Abstract: A connecting assembly for connecting a handle member to a utensil. The utensil has an outer face to which is secured a support member of polygonal cross section and adapted to have the handle member attached thereto. The handle member includes a frontal cavity with a cross section generally conforming to that of the support member. The cavity is generally larger in cross section than the cross section of the support member. A spring member is provided and includes two integrally connected surface portions arranged at an angle to each other and is oriented between a pair of surfaces on the support member and a pair of interior wall surfaces in the cavity. The spring member includes structure for creating a spring force biassing the handle member in a direction transverse to the support member so that at least two wall surfaces on the support member will be urged into a direct form-fitting engagement with two other wall surfaces in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 4782555
Abstract: A utensil handle including a handle member of plastic having a front opening recess for receiving a bolt adapted to be secured on the utensil, whereby the cross section of the recess in the handle member and the one of the bolt conform to one another and both have a polygonal cross section and the bolt is provided with a notch which has a sloped surface and the bolt and the handle member are held together frictionally with a spring which is held on said handle member and acts onto the sloped surface of the bolt. In order that the utensil handle can be manufactured inexpensively and can be mounted easily, a simply formed spring is provided which acts onto the bolt through large lever arms, brings about a relatively large tolerance balance, permits an all around guide for the bolt in the handle and permits the mounting of the handle to the utensil. The spring has a back which extends in insertion direction in the recess. The spring is pivotally supported about its bearing points on the handle member.
