In order to preserve the tips of the teeth, the teeth tips of the teeth provided on the blocking device and the teeth bases of the strip are rounded off or beveled at least on their sides lying against one another in the tightened state. Such an arrangement is used in tying methods in which the free strip end is led back into the lock after wrapping around the item to be tied.

Abstract: Method for bonding a layer of thermoplastic polymer to the surface of an elastomer. A foamed elastomer having, preferably, an open-pore surface is used. The thermoplastic layer is pressed against this surface while it is heated by heat radiation, in particular laser light. The thermoplastic layer is transparent to this radiation, whereas it is absorbed by the surface of the elastomer.

Abstract: A magazine strip of tie ratchets (1) which are provided for holding the ends of ties for binding elongated articles such as cable harnesses and are connected to one another by webs (10), the width of which is not greater than half the ratchet width and which are arranged adjacent to the tie entry side (7) of the ratchets (1). The webs have a length of not more than 1.3 mm and/or one sixth of the ratchet dimension in the direction of the magazine strip. The width of the essentially parallel wall sections which carry the webs is expediently not greater than three quarters of the entire width of the ratchets. The thickness/width ratio of the webs should be not greater than ?. The invention also relates to a tool for binding cable harnesses which ensures that the webs are cut exactly in the center.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for bundling objects, such as cable bundles. The inventive device consists of a toothed tape and a lock that is fixedly connected to an end thereof. The lock is provided with a opening for receiving and holding the free tape end. A tape guiding surface which is situated crosswise in relation to the direction of the tape opening is provided on the side of the lock, whereby said side is opposite the connection to the tape. A portion of the tape which is stretched around an object rests on said surface before entering the tape opening. The tape guiding surface is provided with increased edge ledges.
