  • Patent number: 7478001
Abstract: A method for temperature-compensated weight measurement includes receiving a first output signal from a load sensor device coupled to a structural member, receiving a second output signal from a temperature sensor device, and calculating a load weight value by using the first output signal and the second output signal, and applying a statistically-generated temperature compensation factor.

  • Patent number: 6891468
Abstract: A vehicle brake monitoring system including processing units receiving signals from each of the several brake stroke sensors mounted on a vehicle. The sensors adapted to generate signal corresponding to stroke movement of the brakes. The system adapted to process the sensor signal, signal from the vehicle's stoplight and a time delay between changes in the stoplight signal and corresponding changes in the sensor signal to determine the current condition of a brake. This determination, whether made on a tractor or trailer, can then appear on the display of the data acquisition unit itself, or through data communications to a display in the vehicle's cab; or on a warning light in the cab if the unit detects a malfunctioning brake.

  • Patent number: 5780782
Abstract: An on-board weighing system employs a master unit, and one or more remote units to which weight sensors are connected. Calibration information for each weight sensor is stored in the remote unit to which it is connected. Analog weight related signals generated by the weight sensors also are converted by the remote units to digital sensor values. The remote units are connectable by a communications network with the master unit such that the master unit can read the digital sensor value and calibration information of each weight sensor for processing to yield vehicle weight. The on-board weighing system facilitates trailer swapping by automatically recording and tracking calibration information for the weight sensors in the remote units which together are mounted on the trailers that are swapped.
