  • Patent number: 5709393
Abstract: A tool bit chuck for drilling and chiseling bits has an axially extending receiving sleeve (1) with an opening (3) therethrough in which latching elements (9) are radially displaceably supported. The latching elements (9) are radially displaceable by a spring loaded axially displaceable actuating element (10). An actuating sleeve (12) laterally encloses and is axially displaceable relative to the receiving sleeve (1). Connecting members fix (6, 13) the actuating sleeve to the receiving sleeve. The actuating sleeve (12) has a stop (14) cooperating with the actuating element (10) for applying an axial force to the actuating element for assisting in centering the drilling or chiseling bit.

  • Patent number: 5704744
Abstract: An arrangement for transmitting torque from a chuck (5) in a manually operated tool to a tool bit (1) having an axially extending chuck section (2) insertible into the chuck. The chuck section (2) has axially extending entrainment faces (31) arranged to cooperate with correspondingly shaped torque transmitting faces (6) in the chuck (5). The chuck section (2) is arranged to cooperate with a device (7) in the chuck for retaining the tool bit and affording limited axial displaceability of the bit. The chuck section (2) is formed with at least one recess (4). The device (7) in the chuck includes a locking element (8) engageable in the recess. The locking element (8) is axially and radially displaceable both to a limited extent and the axial displaceability of the tool bit is possible at least in part, by the limited axial displaceability of the locking element (8).

  • Patent number: 5689923
Abstract: A device for locking steel reinforcing or prestressing members (15) in a positive manner in an anchorage (14) includes an axially extending cylindrical anchoring sleeve (1) with a throughbore (2) and a deformation section (3) extending from a leading end in the setting direction (S) and divided by axially extending slots (4) into at least six bending elements (5). An expanding element (8) with a throughbore (9) free of threads has a contact surface (10) for the bending elements (5) and the contact surface is inclined relative to the axis A of the anchoring sleeve (1). The expanding element (8) can be displaced against the deformation section (3) for spreading the bending elements (5) radially outwardly against the receiving surface of a receiving bore in a base material forming the anchorage. The contact surface (10) forms an angle (.alpha.) with the axis (A) of the anchoring sleeve (1) in a range of approximately 30.degree. to 80.degree..

  • Patent number: 5678641
Abstract: A drilling and/or chipping tool includes a housing (30) containing a guide tube (36) with a striking mechanism (28) located within the guide tube, with the guide tube and striking mechanism being displaceable in the striking direction relative to the housing. Damping elements abut between the guide tube and the housing. Rotary motion is transmitted from a drive motor (31), located in a stationary position within the housing, in a wear-free manner to a crankshaft (34) of the striking mechanism (28) by an axial displaceable compensation element (33), so that the striking mechanism is displaceable in the striking direction relative to the drive shaft (32) of the drive motor (31).

  • Patent number: 5671576
Abstract: A device for attaching insulation material (13) of different thicknesses to a base material, such as a structural member, is formed of a receptacle (1) to be fastened to the base material and a pressure component (4) to be secured in a positively locked manner to the receptacle. The pressure component (4) includes a shaft (3) and a head (2) extending laterally outwardly from the shaft. An axially extending slot (9) in the shaft (3) serves for easier compression of the device and permits inward radial deformation of the shaft (3). The pressure component (4) is finally fixed to the receptacle (1) by a stud-shaped expanding element (8) driven in a central throughbore (7) in the shaft for preventing radial deformation of the shaft (3).

  • Patent number: 5669371
Abstract: A masonry-slitting apparatus has a housing (1) containing a drive unit (2) for a slitting member (4), and a trolley (3) on which the housing (1) is pivotally mounted about a rotary bearing (6) located in a first end region of the housing. The housing (1) has a first handle (10) in the first end region and a second handle (9) in a second end region at the opposite end from the first end region. Each handle (9, 10) has a substantially cylindrically shaped gripping surface (12, 13) extending parallel to one another and disposed at right angles to a disk plane of the slitting member (4). An electric switch (5) is located in the gripping surface (13) of the first handle (10) and a locking switch (11), actuating an arresting element (8), is located in the gripping surface (12) of the second handle (9).

  • Patent number: 5655865
Abstract: An attachment arrangement for securing components or construction parts to an attachment rail (32) with a slot-like opening (34). The attachment arrangement includes a spring element (27) for improved handling which is deflectable both in the axial and radial directions. An axially elastic region (28) of the spring element (27) provides an axial prestress between a base member (21) and an intermediate member (29) whereby spontaneous detachment of the attachment arrangement by turning the base member (21) through 90 degrees relative to the attachment rail (32) is prevented.
