Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to, in combination, a protective cover in juxtaposition with artificial turf, the protective cover permitting air and water to pass through the protective cover and reduce bacteria growth and viruses in artificial turf while permitting dissipation of heat from artificial turf and to protect artificial turf and markings or indicia thereon from sunlight, frost, snow and ice. The protective cover includes a structure of at least one layer of an open mesh weave of thermoplastic material in which the weave has warp and weft strips forming a thin substantially uniform layer having opposed major surfaces and openings therein to permit moisture and air to pass therethrough, and a layer of lace coating on at least one of the major surfaces, the layer of lace coating only partially covering a portion of at least one major surface.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to the use of a composite product for a plant pot filter, the composite comprises an open mesh weave of thermoplastic material, the weave has warp and weft strips which form a substantially uniform layer with opposed surfaces. The mesh defines individual slits extending through said layer. There is provided a discontinuous layer on one of the opposed surfaces, and a discontinuous layer on the other of the opposed surfaces. The invention is further directed to a plant pot having a moisture permeable filter, which comprises a composite filter, having the open mesh weave of thermoplastic material of the invention herein.

Abstract: A method for increasing the ability of a water surface to cool and freeze is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a substrate surface adapted to support a layer of ice, and providing a water-impermeable flexible sheet on top of the substrate surface which supports the flexible sheet, the sheet including at least first, second and third layers. The first layer includes a heat reflective coating for reflecting heat transmitted from the substrate back into the substrate, a second or middle layer which may be an insulative layer, and a third or uppermost layer including a non-reflective coating to reduce heat absorption, and providing a layer of water or ice on top of the water-impermeable flexible sheet whereby the flexible sheet enhances or lowers the temperature of the water on the surface by reducing the temperature transmission through the substrate surface and the upper surface or layer providing non-reflective properties to reduce heat transmission therethrough.

Abstract: A protective winter covering for swimming pools including an open mesh weave of scrim material, the mesh having warp and weft strips forming a substantially thin layer having opposed major surfaces, where both the warp and weft strip materials are of a heat absorbing material, and at least one of the major surfaces of the scrim material has a discontinuous coating having heat reflecting properties opposite to that of the warp and weft strip, the discontinuous coating theron at least partially covering the surface.

Abstract: A lawn or yard tractor personal enclosure has a frame supported on the tractor, conveniently by attachment to a seat mounting position. The enclosure has a top frame, back supports and support members attaching the supports to the tractor. A flexible enclosure, for example of netting, fits over the frame and is contoured to suit the tractor. L-shaped brackets at the lower ends of the back supports include quick release mounts to releasably attach the enclosure to a tractor.

Abstract: A shelter suitable for use on a snowblower shelter may be easily collapsed for storage and includes a plurality of interconnected frame members and flexible material releasably connected thereto. The shelter may be connected to any suitable device such as a lawn mower, walking aid, or earth tiller. The arrangement has the advantage of protecting a user from precipitation and heat as well as sun rays.
