  • Patent number: 6373393
Abstract: A fire detection device comprises a detection element to convert the infrared ray energy into the electric signal, a first extracting unit to extract the signal of a first prescribed frequency range including the flicker frequency of a fire from the output signal of the detection element, a second extracting unit to extract the signal of a second prescribed frequency range including no flicker frequency of a fire but including the frequency on the higher frequency side than that of the first prescribed frequency range from the output signal of the detection element, and a judging unit to judge a fire based on the output signal of the first extracting unit and the output signal of the second extracting unit. The fire detection device is capable of surely discriminating and detecting the flame from other infrared ray energy generation source. A band pass filter or the like need not be increased in number, and the increase in the product price can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6329922
Abstract: It is prevented that a malfunction occurs because of a noise. A smoke detection section samples as a smoke detection signal a signal digitized after being output from a light reception section when a light emission section glows, and updates a previous smoke detection signal. A noise detection section samples as a noise detection signal a signal output from the light reception section when the light emission section is not driven to glow. When the noise detection signal exceeds a predetermined noise level, a noise de-influence unit disables updating of the previous smoke detection signal with the newly sampled smoke detection signal so as to process a noise.

  • Patent number: 6073700
Abstract: The present invention is to discharge the fire extinguishing water by accurately opening the valve, using a shape-memory alloy at a predetermined temperature in a fire. When a shape-memory alloy in a first heat sensitive operation part is heated to a predetermined memory restoring temperature, a pilot valve is operated by the restoring force thereof so that a spool valve can be in a state capable of being opened by an actuator. When a second heat sensitive operation part reaches a predetermined water discharge starting temperature higher than the memory restoring temperature, a fusible alloy provided inside is thermally decomposed so that the first heat sensitive operation part maintained in the closed state is released so as to discharge the fire extinguishing water.

  • Patent number: 6044912
Abstract: A sprinkler head connected with a fire extinguishing piping maintains a valve body in a closed state so as to contain compressed fire extinguishing water filled in a fire extinguishing piping when there is no fire, but opens and operates the valve body so as to discharge the compressed and supplied fire extinguishing water at the time of a fire. The fire extinguishing water is contained by closing the gap between the valve body and the peripheral part of the valve body by a sealing member mounted in the valve body, prepared by coating a rubber base material with a fluorine contained resin coating material. The rubber base material of the sealing member can have a round, oval, U-shaped, Y-shaped, or X-shaped cross-sectional shape. The rubber base material can be made from a fluorine rubber or a silicon rubber.

  • Patent number: 5859706
Abstract: A drive pulse for emitting and turning-off a light emitting element is output, the level difference or the level ratio between the light emission zero point detection signal from a light receiving element having received the light from the light emitting element and a putting-off zero point detection signal from the light receiving element when the light emitting element is put off is calculated, and the level difference or the level ratio is compared with a preset level to thereby determine the abnormality of the light emitting element, the light receiving element and a peripheral circuit. With this arrangement, even if the ratio of noise light occupied in the zero point output is reduced, whether detecting elements and the peripheral circuit are good or bad and whether the elements are abnormally polluted or not can be reliably tested without the effect of the dispersion of the detecting elements and the change of an ambient temperature, whereby the reliability of a smoke detector is improved.

  • Patent number: 5670938
Abstract: In a fire alarm device for detecting the physical quantities of substances arising from the outbreak of a fire and giving a fire alarm, membership functions showing the correlation between an arising quantities calculated by the detected physical quantities and the danger degree which a man would feel with respect to the physical quantities are preset, the danger degree with respect to the arising value calculated by the physical quantities actually detected by a detection means is obtained by using the membership functions, and an alarm and control in accordance with the danger degree is given. Therefore, there is provided a fire alarm device capable of judging the outbreak of a fire based on an actual fire situation and giving an alarm and control in accordance with the degree of danger which a man would feel with respect to the scale, situation and so on of the fire.

  • Patent number: 5612678
Abstract: A fire detector consisting of a body and a base. An inner wall part is provided in a circumferential wall of the body in such a manner that the inner wall part can be cut away therefrom. Further, an engaging member abutting on the inner wall part is provided in the base. If it is unnecessary to lock the body to the base, the inner wall part is not cut away therefrom. In contrast, if it is necessary to lock the body to the base, the inner wall part is cut away therefrom. Thereby, the engaging member 12 can be fitted into a recess portion formed on the circumferential wall by cutting away the inner wall part therefrom. If the body is pushed against the base, a leading end of the engaging member is pushed up by the top surface of the circumferential wall. When the body being in such a state is turned in the circumferential or clockwise direction thereof to a fixing position at which the body is fixed, the leading end is fitted into the recess portion and moves downwardly.
