Abstract: The invention relates to a coating method for coating at least one surface of a workpiece (1) by means of a coating element (2), from which material is transferred to the surface of the workpiece (1), wherein in a first method step at least the area of the surface of the workpiece (1) to be coated is heated, and in a further method step the area of the surface of a workpiece (1) to be coated is brought into contact with the coating element (2), wherein a relative motion between the surface of the workpiece (1) and the coating element (2) is applied.
