Abstract: A padded mattress cover for a mattress has a top panel with a first perimeter, a first rope attached to the top panel along the first perimeter, and a gusset attached to the first rope. A second rope is attached to the gusset opposite the first rope and a bottom panel with a second perimeter is attached to the second rope along the second perimeter, the bottom panel being opposed to the top panel to form an interior within the cover. A latex layer is positioned beneath the top panel and within the interior. A non-woven layer is positioned beneath the latex layer and within the interior. Finally, a plurality of puff balls are positioned between the non-woven layer and the bottom panel. The padded mattress cover may be positioned on a mattress with the bottom panel adjacent said mattress to cover said mattress.

Abstract: A pillow closure shell having an opening leading into an internal cavity, the opening having a closure mechanism, the closure mechanism adapted to operate in only a first direction. Also disclosed is a pillow closure comprising a first panel having a first boundary and a second panel having a second boundary, the second panel opposed to the first panel. Additionally, there may be at least one intermediate panel having at least one or more additional boundaries, the at least one intermediate panel connectively fastened to the first panel and the second panel to create a cavity between the first panel, the second panel, and the at least one intermediate panel. A fill material may be disposed within the cavity and the cavity may have a closure mechanism associated with the first panel, the second panel, and/or the at least one intermediate panel, the closure mechanism adapted to operate in a first direction.

Abstract: A pillow shell, the pillow shell having an opening leading into an internal cavity, the opening having a zipper closure mechanism, the zipper closure mechanism adapted to operate in only a single direction. Also disclosed is a pillow comprising a pair of panels each having a first edge and opposed second edge spanning a first end and an opposed second end, the panels being sewn along at least the first and second side edges and the first end edge to create a cavity between the panels, fill material disposed within the cavity, and a zipper closure mechanism associated with the second end edges, the zipper closure mechanism adapted to operate only in a single direction. The zipper closure mechanism may include a pull tab connected to a slide, the slide including a ratchet mechanism to permit operation of the slide in only the single direction.

Abstract: A pillow has a casing forming an interior space and a fill material contained within the interior space. The casing includes a transparent portion to provide visual access to the interior space of the casing. The transparent portion may comprise a supple, transparent material.

Abstract: A mattress cover includes a top panel, a skirt portion depending from the periphery of the top panel, and an elastic strip connected to the free edge of the skirt portion. The elastic strip has a width of between about 0.75" and about 3.0" so as to produce a strong elastic force holding the mattress cover in close conforming relationship on mattresses within a wide range of thicknesses. The elastic strip is sufficiently wide that ornamentation, including trademarks, logos and other symbols applied thereto, would be readily discernible when the mattress cover is not in use, but would not be plainly visible when the mattress cover is in use and therefore would not interfere with the aesthetic appearance of the bed.

Abstract: A series of pillows having about the same weight are formed with different heights by employing casings having a gusset between the top and bottom panels. Relatively narrow gussets produce casings having relatively small volumes, and relatively large gussets produce casings having relatively large volumes. For a given weight of fill material, the smaller the volume of the casing the higher the crown will be and the higher the overall height of the pillow will be. Pillows in the series having the greatest height can be formed with no gusset at all.
