Patent number: 10995546Abstract: A hidden fastener screen installation system includes a plurality of screen frame extrusions cooperating to form an opening across which a screen is positioned. Each screen frame extrusion includes a mounting surface and a singular mounting rib extending outwardly from the mounting surface. The mounting surface is configured to receive a plurality of mechanical fasteners to retain the screen frame extrusion to a portion of a building structure. A trim mold includes a channel configured to closely receive and retain the mounting rib. The screen is received in the channel and is retained by cooperation between the trim mold and the mounting rib. A portion of the trim mold extends over the fasteners and fully covers the fasteners such that the fasteners are completely hidden upon installation of the trim mold on the screen frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2020Date of Patent: May 4, 2021Assignee: HOME IMPROVEMENT SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: David Seuberling, William F Browning

Patent number: 9518423Abstract: A window screen installation system is disclosed that includes a screen frame configured in a generally rectangular configuration from a plurality of screen frame extrusions. A plurality of trim molds are included that are configured to snap into place over the screen frame extrusion. When respective ends of the trim molds are positioned adjacent one another they form a plurality of generally rectangular shaped openings. A plurality of plinths are configured to be positioned in each of the plurality of openings configured to further secure the trim molds to the screen frame extrusions.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2014Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: Home Improvement Systems, Inc.Inventors: David Seuberling, Michael Tompkins

Patent number: 9487999Abstract: A gazebo screen installation system is disclosed that is operable to allow screen frame assemblies to be installed in gazebos. The system includes a gazebo screen frame having a wedge portion and a trim portion. The trim portion includes a mounting rib extending upwardly from an upper surface of the trim portion and the wedge portion extends downwardly from said trim portion. A backing wedge strip is included having an angled surface and a mounting surface. The angled surface is formed in relation to the mounting surface such that a right angle forming angle is created in relation to a screen material when the backing wedge strip is connected with a vertical support member of a gazebo.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2015Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: Home Improvement Systems, Inc.Inventors: David Seuberling, Michael Tompkins

Publication number: 20040020157Abstract: A free-standing window screen fabrication system for releasably mounting a screen fabric or other pliable sheet material on a free-standing screen frame in such a manner as to self-tighten the fabric or material during installation. A screen is disposed and held securely in place between a screen frame extrusion member and a trim mold. The screen frame extrusion defines a mounting surface disposed below and parallel to an exterior face. The screen frame extrusion further defines an interior channel for receiving one end of a connector, a plurality of screen frame extrusions being secured in an end-to-end fashion to define a free-standing screen frame. A mounting rib extends along the mounting surface and terminates below the exterior face in the preferred embodiment. A bead is defined at the terminal edge of the mounting rib to serve as a locking mechanism. The trim mold defines a channel opening on the bottom surface thereof to closely receive the mounting rib of the screen frame extrusion.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2002Publication date: February 5, 2004Applicant: Home Improvement System, Inc.Inventor: W.
