Publication number: 20150272378Abstract: The invention is directed to a French press combination grinder, filter, and drinking vessel, and method of making coffee. The system has a motor base, a container body, and two selectively removable container bases. The first removable container base has a blade, and the second removable container base has a plunger and filtering unit. Coffee beans are placed in the container body and ground when the first selectively removable container base is attached to the container body. Then, after the coffee is ground, the first base is removed and hot water is poured into the container body. The user then attaches the second container base and depresses the filtering unit to separate the coffee slurry into a liquid portion on top and coffee grounds portion on the bottom. The user may then drink the coffee directly from the same container that ground and filtered the coffee beans.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2014Publication date: October 1, 2015Applicant: HOMELAND HOUSEWARES, LLCInventor: Lenny Sands

Publication number: 20150201810Abstract: A food mixer comprises a receiving chamber that is connected to a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber contains a shredding component and a blending component that rotatably engages the mixing chamber. The blending component can be a screw bit that comprises a first set of spiral ridge that form a screw pattern and a second set of straight ridges on its cone-shaped top. The spiral ridges form channels between the ridges. On the surface of the channels near the bottom of the screw bit, a set of teeth is present. On the spiral ridges themselves, there is also another set of teeth. The width of the channels becomes increasing wider towards the bottom of the screw bit. The distance between the spiral ridges is larger at the bottom of the screw bit than the distance between the ridges at the top of the screw bit.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2014Publication date: July 23, 2015Applicant: HOMELAND HOUSEWARES, LLCInventor: Lenny Sands

Publication number: 20150098299Abstract: A food-processing device for blending and mixing food comprises a mixing vessel, a blade holder, and a motor base. The motor is a high power motor. The device has various safety features designed for the high power motor. The blade holder comprises a safety mechanism that prevents the motor base from operating without the mixing vessel covering the blade. On the surface of the motor base, it has raised area that is complementarily shaped with some recesses on the bottom of the blade holder to align the blade holder and the motor base. It also has a drainage hole that prevents the accumulation of liquid in the well of the motor base. The motor is mounted on the ceiling of the motor housing through a bracket with multiple dampers. The circuit of the motor has soft start and automatic turn off features.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2013Publication date: April 9, 2015Applicant: HOMELAND HOUSEWARES, LLCInventor: Colin Sapire

Patent number: 8122821Abstract: A food-processing device for chopping, mixing, or liquefying foods. The device comprises a container, a removable base, and a blender base. The container comprises a locking member located at the periphery of the container. The container has an opening. The removable base comprises a blade member and is removably affixable to the opening of the container. The blender base comprises a motor and a recessed well. The recessed well comprises a pressure-activated switch and a locking groove located adjacent to the switch. The removable base is adapted to removably fit within the recessed well such that when the locking member contacts and depresses the switch, the downward movement of the switch activates the motor, wherein the container can be depressed and rotated to allow the locking member to engage the locking groove, thereby permitting continuous operation of the motor without requiring a user to exert constant pressure on the container.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2011Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignee: Homeland Housewares, LLCInventor: Lenny Sands
