Abstract: An image compressing device includes a block generating unit configured to divide an image into blocks having a predetermined size and to generate data corresponding to a plurality of blocks, a discrete cosine transform unit configured to perform a discrete cosine transform on the data corresponding to the plurality of blocks generated by the block generating unit for each block and to generate frequency domain data of the image, and a data adjusting unit configured to extract only components of a limited frequency domain from the frequency domain data of the image generated by the discrete cosine transform unit and to generate compressed data.
