    Abstract: An optical connector plug with a shutter to be fitted to an optical connector adapter includes: a plug frame configured to hold a ferrule; a square cylindrical front housing including a shutter that opens and closes with a movement of the ferrule; a locking housing fixedly and integrally connected to the plug frame and configured to be fitted into and be locked with the optical connector adapter; and a spring that biases the front housing forward. The plug frame is moved forward by a rearward movement of the front housing, a front opening edge portion of the plug frame expands a shutter into a straight shape, and the shutter includes slits straddling over a boundary between a flat portion and a curved portion when light is blocked, and a protrusion formed by a center portion being deformed by the expanded shutter when being fitted is cancelled.

The locking projections abut against an edge portion of an opening of the adapter when the locking housing is fitted into the adapter, so that the front housing is moved rearward, and a distal end portion of the ferrule projects outward from the opening.

When the front cover moves backward, the curved portion of the shutter is pressed against a tip of the plug frame to become flat and is pressed against the inner wall of the front cover to be retained in a plate form, thereby releasing a light-shielding state of the optical fiber.

The connector housing has a connector body and a disengagement-preventing cover for closing a top portion of the connector body to prevent the crimp contact from coming off upward after the crimp contact has been mounted in the connector body. The connector body has engagement portions in which the protrusions of the crimp contact are inserted and received perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the connector cable. The protrusions are engaged in the engagement portions. The disengagement-preventing cover is mounted to the connector body via a hinge such that the cover can be opened and closed.
