    Abstract: A surface mounting type of connector for IC cards has a connector main body having two sets of electric contacts for connection to electric contacts of respective connectors provided in two IC cards. Contact portions of each set of the electric contacts are disposed in two rows in one direction to lie in a direction perpendicular to the one direction. The connector main body has a fitting recess formed in a lower portion thereof. Terminal portions of the two sets of electric contacts are arranged so as to lie exposed in two rows parallel to each other along facing side walls of the fitting recess. A terminal member having two parallel rows of terminal pieces to be connected to a wiring circuit board is fitted into the fitting recess such that the terminal pieces urgingly contact the terminal portions.

The lock mechanism is made up of a flexible lock piece one end of which is connected to the shield member; a pair of lock release slide plates which are slidable along upper and lower main surfaces of the casing; and slide members which slide inside the casing by sliding of the slide plates so as to release the locking by the lock piece.

    Abstract: A PC card has a print circuit board for mounting memories thereon, a connector 3 which is connected to a wiring portion of the print circuit board 5, a frame 8 for supporting the print circuit board and a pair of covers 9, 9 for covering, from upper and lower sides, the print circuit board, the connector and the frame by engaging them by means of grooves 13 formed in the frame. The connector has a plurality of contacts which are divided into plural sets. The pair of covers are mounted in positions to cover the print circuit board, the connector and the frame and to form a plurality of openings for connection with a mating connector. Those projecting pieces 16 and 17 of the pair of covers which are interposed between adjacent openings engage grooves formed in a connector main body between predetermined adjoining sets of contacts.

    Abstract: An electrical connector has an electrically insulating member for holding therein a plurality of laterally arranged longitudinally elongated electrical contacts, a metallic shell arranged in a pair of split halves to be fitted together to contain therebetween the electrically insulating member, and a resinous cover to cover the metallic shell. One of the halves of the metallic shell has a pair of resilient means provided on a front end of the metallic shell, each of the resilient members having an outwardly projecting engaging piece which is disposed in such a portion as is outside the resinous cover. The resinous cover has a pair of flexible portions which are so arranged as to urge the resilient means inwards when pressed towards each other, whereby the engaging pieces are also moved towards each other. Each of the resilient means has a projecting piece which extends from a front side wall portion thereof towards the electrically insulating member.

    Abstract: An IC card device has a frame, a print circuit board which is supported by the frame and on which are mounted electronic parts such as IC's or the like, as well as connectors, and a pair of electrically conductive covers which cover front and rear surfaces of the print circuit boards and which are fixed to the frame. The electrically conductive covers have elasticity and channel shaped bent portions at least on both side edges thereof. The frame has tapered surfaces at least in both external side corner portions thereof as well as slits on both external side surfaces thereof. Both side edges of the channel shaped bent portions are caused to slide, when the electrically conductive covers are pressed towards each other, along the tapered surfaces into engagement with the slits.

    Abstract: A lock piece engaging member of a connector has a cylindrical main body which has, in an intermediate portion thereof, a small-diameter portion and, on one end thereof, a large-diameter engaging portion. It has also a fastening thread which is provided on the other end of the cylindrical metallic main body and extends in an axial direction thereof, and a tightening groove which is formed on an end surface of the engaging portion, such that the lock piece engaging member is screwed by the fastening thread into the connector main body. A mating connector has, on each side, an electrically conductive plate-like lock piece provided with an engaging window at one end and a pressed portion with a lock spring at the other end. In releasing the engagement between the connector and the mating connector, pressing portions of the lock pieces are pressed inwards.

    Abstract: An electrical connector main body has a pair of mounting portions provided on both sides of a fitting portion which fits into a mating connector. A nut-placing recess is provided on an upper surface of each of the mounting portions. A parallel pair of slit-like apertures are provided on both sides of each of the nut-placing recess. Each of the nut-placing recess has at the bottom thereof a bolt-inserting aperture, and at least a pair of grooves which are oppositely provided on an internal surface of the bolt-inserting aperture along its axial line. A nut is fitted into the nut-placing recess and a bolt for fastening a printed wiring board is inserted into the bolt-inserting aperture so that the bolt can be screwed into the nut.

An electrically conductive nut-like member is fitted into the perforation. An electrically conductive plate member or an electrically conductive mounting member is fitted into the perforation in contact with an end surface of the nut-like member. A metallic shell which has projections on its internal surface is fitted onto or into a surface of the connector main body so that the projections contact the periphery of the nut-like member. Part of the electrically conductive plate member or an electrically conductive mounting member is electrically connected to an electrically conducting portion of a printed wiring board by bolting or by soldering.

    Abstract: A pressure contact type connector for a flat cable wherein each conductor wire is pressed into U-shaped terminal members arranged in a first row and a second row. The terminal members in each of the first and second rows are disposed to form a zigzag arrangement having a pitch twice as large as the pitch of the conductor wires of the cable. The cable is arranged in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the terminal members. Each one of the terminal members in a first row is disposed to be shifted by one conductor wire arrangement pitch with respect to the corresponding one in the second row. A first cable housing includes a height at least equal to the length of a portion of the terminal member projecting out of an end surface of the contact housing and includes insertion through holes for the terminal members and a plurality of grooves disposed to cross the insertion through holes for receiving the terminal members and the conductor wire connecting portions for pressing into the terminal members.

    Abstract: A connector apparatus wherein a connector member includes an insulation material connector body with a large number of contacts projecting downwardly from the connector member base for positioning on a printed circuit base board. An attaching member is provided for attaching the contacts to the printed circuit board. An end portion of each of the contacts is connected by soldering to a printed circuit of the base board. The attaching member includes a metallic plate member provided at its one end portion with a pair of legs including projections positioned at forward ends respectively for engagement with and for soldering to the printed circuit base board. The metallic plate member may be provided on both side edges with a pair of engaging claws which engage an inner wall of an attaching opening made in the connector body. The attaching member may include the metallic plate member and a tap screw which is screwed into a second end portion of the metallic plate member.
