Patent number: 6102751Abstract: A removable socket assembly (36, 44) for an electrical connector (10, 18) in a take-out assembly for a seismic cable (11). The socket assembly (36, 44) has a receptacle (50) receiving a socket (52) in a threaded relation. Base (68) of socket (52) has a bore (82) of a hexagonal cross section and a tool (90) of a hexagonal cross section is received within bore (82) in a mating relation for removal and replacement of socket (52) in the event of malfunctioning.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1998Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Houston Geophysical Products, Inc.Inventor: Timothy D. Becker

Patent number: 4609247Abstract: The male connector plug has a cylindrical body portion which has a forward cylindrical section of a smaller diameter and a rear cylindrical section of a larger diameter. Each such body section is surrounded by an O-ring. The mating female connector plug has a tubular body portion whose bore defines a forward cylindrical bore section of a larger-diameter and a rear cylindrical bore section of a smaller diameter. Each bore section has an annular groove therein.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1983Date of Patent: September 2, 1986Assignee: Houston Geophysical Products, Inc.Inventor: Ira R. Annoot

Patent number: 4571018Abstract: The T-coupler has a casing from which extends at least one sleeve having a tubular wall, a rear wall, a port, and a connector chamber formed between the rear wall and the port. First connector contacts are arranged on the rear wall of the sleeve. Conductors within the casing electrically interconnect the first contacts to provide polarized circuit paths therebetween. A connector element carries mating second contacts. A forwardly-tapering resilient sealing grommet and a forwardly-tapering anchoring grommet are provided in the connector chamber. A seismic leader cable extends through the longitudinal bores in the anchoring and sealing grommets. The conductors of the cable are electrically connected to respective ones of the second contacts in the connector. An end cap is adapted to become secured to the forward portion of the sleeve to thereby anchor the cable to the anchoring grommet, and to seal off the connector chamber against moisture penetration.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1984Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Assignee: Houston Geophysical Products, Inc.Inventor: Ira R. Annoot

Patent number: 4445741Abstract: The double-plug seismic electric connector comprises an elongated insulating body. A male connector plug is at one end of the body and a female connector plug is at the opposite end of the body. Each plug has a pair of male and female contacts. A pair of spaced axial conductors is embedded within the insulating body for interconnecting the opposite male and female contacts. The inner end of a double-wire cable is embedded within the insulating body and each wire inner end is connected to one of the conductors.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1981Date of Patent: May 1, 1984Assignee: Houston Geophysical Products, Inc.Inventor: Ira R.
