  • Patent number: 4702146
Abstract: A gas pressure adjusting device in the gas-operated mechanism of a gas-operated autoloading shotgun is in the form of a valve assembly comprising essentially a valve seat encompassing a stepped valve opening consisting of adjacent opening parts of different diameters, a valve body having first and second pressure-receiving surfaces and first and second sliding contact surfaces respectively fitted slideably in the valve opening parts, and a spring urging the valve body toward and into closed state against the valve seat. This valve assembly operates with a double action wherein the gas pressure tapped from the barrel bore acts initially on only the first pressure-receiving surface of the valve body and, upon exceeding a predetermined pressure, moves the valve body past a point where it acts also on the second pressure-receiving surface thereby to be released into the outside air.

  • Patent number: 4587708
Abstract: A chuck jaw changer is disclosed as mounted on the headstock (24) of an N/C lathe (22) for automatically changing the set of gripping jaws (32) of a quick change chuck (28) on a work spindle (26) with any of other interchangeable sets of gripping jaws (32') being held by a rotary, indexing jaw magazine (34). The jaw magazine has formed therein several jaw grooves (150) each for holding one set of gripping jaws (32'), or the jaw set (32) withdrawn from the chuck, slidably engaged therein in a row. An indexing mechanism (35) revolves the jaw magazine relative to the machine tool for bringing any of the jaw grooves into line with that one of radial jaw guideways (54) of the chuck which is being held in a prescribed jaw change position on the work spindle. A jaw transfer mechanism (36) operates for successively transferring the set of jaws from the chuck into an empty jaw groove in the jaw magazine, and a different set of jaws from the jaw magazine to the chuck.

  • Patent number: 4569192
Abstract: An apparatus for producing special yarn made of a fiber strand in which a number of fibers are randomly arranged along the lengthwise direction thereof, in which special yarn at least one of the yarn structural parameters, e.g., yarn count number or number of twist, changes along the lengthwise direction of the yarn.A pattern of change of the parameters of the yarn structure with respect to the length of the special yarn to be produced is stored in a central processing device, while a spun length of the special yarn is measured by a sensor. The yarn structural parameters are changed to correspond to the pattern set to the central processing device and the special yarn is produced by the yarn forming device using another central processing device of the spinning frame. This apparatus can be used for a ring spinning frame, an open end spinning frame, a fasciated yarn spinning frame, and the like.

  • Patent number: 4551969
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the roving winding speed in a roving frame, in which a roving position detecting unit detects central positions of vibration of the roving in the vertical direction while suspended between a front roller of the drafting device and a flyer top by means of a plurality of photoelectric sensors. An average central vertical position of the vibrating roving is computed from the values measured by the roving position detecting unit, and a correction amount of the rotation speed of a bobbin is computed from the difference between the average central position and a desired value for controlling the roving winding speed and from a correction coefficient. A correction signal is generated corresponding to the correction amount, and the rotation speed of the bobbin is regulated based on the correction signal.

  • Patent number: 4532692
Abstract: A chuck jaw changer is provided for a machine tool such as a numerically controlled lathe (22) for automatically changing the gripping jaws (32) of a quick change chuck (28) on its work spindle (26). The set of gripping jaws of the chuck are replaceably engaged in respective radial guideways (56) in a chuck body (30), with each gripping jaw being slid into and out of one guideway when that guideway is in a preassigned jaw change position on the chuck body. The chuck jaw changer has a rotary, indexing jaw magazine (34) having holder grooves (140) defined therein at constant circumferential spacings for releasably holding additional sets of gripping jaws (32') interchangeable with the jaw set on the chuck body. A jaw transfer mechanism (36) transfers a gripping jaw (32, 32') rectilinearly between that one of the guideways (56) in the chuck body which is in the jaw change position and that one of the holder grooves in the jaw magazine which is positioned in line therewith.

  • Patent number: 4473997
Abstract: A method and apparatus for switching the relative position between roving bobbins held by bobbin hangers of a front row and the roving bobbins held by the rear row in a spinning frame. The roving bobbin exchange operation is carried out as successive unit operations from one end-side of the spinning frame to the other end-side thereof. In each unit operation, first the axial distance between a bobbin hanger of the front row and a bobbin hanger of the rear row, which are positioned adjacently in the lengthwise direction of the spinning frame, is reduced to a predetermined distance, then the relative position of those two bobbin hangers is reversely changed while maintaining the reduced axial distance. Thereafter, the axial distance between those two bobbin hangers is returned to the initial condition for carrying out the spinning operation.

  • Patent number: 4434990
Abstract: A fluid-actuated type hollow power chuck has a hollow cylindrical chuck body with a forward part of larger outer diameter and a rearward part of small outer diameter. A cylinder body of a hollow cylindrical shape is secured to and around to the outer surface of the rearward part of the chuck body so as to form an annular cylinder chamber. A piston slidable in the cylinder chamber to operate the jaws has a piston sleeve extending rearward therefrom between the chuck body and the cylinder body, the displacements of the piston sleeve being detected at points rearward of the cylinder body by proximity switches installed in a ring disposed to the rear of the cylinder body, whereby displacements of the jaws are indirectly indicated by the switches.

  • Patent number: 4431201
Abstract: A centrifugal force compensation device in a wedge-type balanced rotary chuck having jaws comprises, for each jaw, a balance weight and means for doubling the centrifugal force acting on the balance weight and applying the doubled force to the back face of that jaw near the outer periphery thereof thereby to press forward the jaw and impart thereto a moment urging it to rotate inward toward the chuck axis, whereby the so-called jaw flotation phenomenon is countered and prevented and, simultaneously, the reduction in chuck gripping force due to centrifugal force is compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4145868
Abstract: A mobile type auto-doffer for ring spinning machines and the like consists of a doffing device and a donning device with mechanisms similar to those of a doffing device. The operation for doffing full bobbins may be carried out by utilizing the doffing device, and the operation for donning fresh bobbins may be carried out by utilizing the donning device. During the doffing operation, a plurality of full bobbins is simultaneously transported from the spindles to the pegs disposed between the spindle rail of the spinning machine and the surface of the floor of a spinning plant. During the donning operation, the same number of fresh bobbins as that of a full bobbins is simultaneously transported from the pegs to the spindles. Both of the above-mentioned ways of transporting bobbins may be carried out by moving the full bobbins or the fresh bobbins along separate vertical passages, respectively, i.e., one passage being disposed farther from the row of spindles than the other passage.
