    Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a signal sending method, a device, and a system. A base station modulates, by using a first modulation scheme, signaling carried in a control channel, and modulates, by using a second modulation scheme, data carried in a traffic channel; and the base station sends, to UE, a signal obtained after modulation. In this way, the base station can independently select a modulation scheme for the control channel and the traffic channel, avoiding a case in which a modulation scheme used by the control channel and a modulation scheme used by the traffic channel must be the same, so that the base station can flexibly select a channel modulation scheme.

    Abstract: Embodiments are provided to suppress the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in MC-Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) and derivative systems. The embodiments include transmitter and receiver configurations for limiting the level of PAPR in the transmitted and received signals. The PAPR is limited to a PAPR of typical OFDM signals. At the transmitter, a sequence of Newman phase rotations (rotors) is applied to a sequence of transmitted signals prior to an inverse Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) function. With the correct choice of Newman phases, the PAPR of the transmitted signals is sufficiently suppressed. The sequence is also repeated for subsequently transmitted signals. At the receiver, the sequence of Newman rotors is removed after a FFT function. The transmitter and receiver are configured by adding an additional module or function without changing other existing used modules or functions.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided to assign radio resources with one of two or more types of assignments on a frame-by-frame basis. The first type of assignment uses subcarriers that are contiguous in both time and frequency, and the second type of assignment uses subcarriers that are disjoint and equally-spaced in frequency. The types of resource assignments can be multiplexed in a frame by dividing the frame into two zones, each zone of a different type. The demarcation between the first and second zones is implicitly indicated by the assignment messages for the mobile stations. Based on the loading conditions, the base station selects one of two demarcation strategies to use and communicates the selection implicitly by using one assignment message for a mobile station.
