Abstract: A system for foreign agent relocation in a wireless network. The system comprises at least one first foreign agent; at least one second foreign agent; and at least one mobile node. Relocation negotiation is performed to determine whether foreign agent relocation of the mobile node from the at least one first foreign agent to the at least one second foreign agent is agreed, and foreign agent relocation is performed if the foreign agent relocation is agreed.
Abstract: A method of using a domain-global Service Instance identifier at the boundaries between networks is disclosed. The method performs Service VLAN identifier to Service Instance identifier mapping function within a provider bridge when transmitting a service instance across a provider network.
Abstract: A wavelength division multiplexing based passive optical network is disclosed. The network includes an optical line terminal; a power optical splitter connecting to the optical line terminal by an optical fiber; and several optical network units. Each of the optical network units connects to the power optical splitter by each of other optical fibers by a random process.
Abstract: A method of using a domain-global Service Instance identifier at the boundaries between networks is disclosed. The method performs Service VLAN identifier to Service Instance identifier mapping function within a provider bridge when transmitting a service instance across a provider network.
Abstract: A system of physical layer packet format and signaling methods is disclosed, wherein signaling overhead is minimized in applications where multiple users share air interface resources; improving efficiency in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication systems.

Abstract: Techniques are provided to assign radio resources with one of two or more types of assignments on a frame-by-frame basis. The first type of assignment uses subcarriers that are contiguous in both time and frequency, and the second type of assignment uses subcarriers that are disjoint and equally-spaced in frequency. The types of resource assignments can be multiplexed in a frame by dividing the frame into two zones, each zone of a different type. The demarcation between the first and second zones is implicitly indicated by the assignment messages for the mobile stations. Based on the loading conditions, the base station selects one of two demarcation strategies to use and communicates the selection implicitly by using one assignment message for a mobile station.
