Abstract: Compositions containing a ?-sulfofatty acid ester and a hydrotrope. The ?-sulfofatty acid ester and the hydrotrope reduce the pH drift in the composition and solubilize the ?-sulfofatty acid ester in solution. Methods are also disclosed for making such compositions.
Abstract: Compositions and method of making compositions comprising &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester and other detergent components. The &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester is formed into a first portion, and the other detergent components are formed into a second portion. The first portion is post-added to the second portion.

Abstract: A washing composition is disclosed which includes an &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester and a silicate builder to control water hardness while reducing builder deposits on clothing. The composition is free of added inorganic phosphate builders and insoluble zeolite builders, yet provides comparable cleaning performance to detergents containing such builders.
Abstract: A light duty liquid compositions comprising &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester, hydrotrope, and nonionic surfactant. The &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester and the hydrotrope stabilize the composition, by reducing pH drift and/or solubilizing the &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester in solution. Methods are also disclosed for making such compositions.

Abstract: The present invention includes a composition comprising an enriched mixture of &agr;-sulfofatty acid esters. Increasing the concentration of specific chain length &agr;-sulfofatty acid esters, relative to the proportions of the other chain lengths, allows the detergent compositions to exhibit an improved cleaning performance while simultaneously cleaning a wide variety of materials.

Abstract: An &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester and polyalkoxylated alkanolamide composition and method. The &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester is formed into an ester portion, and the polyalkoxylated alkanolamide is formed into an alkanolamide portion. Both portions can optionally include other detergent components. Each portion comprises a plurality of particles, such as a powder or beads, pellets, granules, and the like. Each portion is formed separately, and then the portions are mixed. The portions can be combined in any suitable ratios, according to the desired properties of the final composition.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for a composition comprising at least one &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester in a first portion and at least one basic material in a second, different portion. After preparing the first and second portions separately, the first and second portions are joined to form a final composition. The first and second portions are joined together to form the final composition in a manner to minimize contact, thereby reducing the formation of additional di-salts, and thereby improving the properties of the composition.

Abstract: The invention includes compositions containing one or more &agr;-sulfofatty acid esters, and methods for making and using the same. At least one &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester is included in an inner portion. The invented composition can further include an outer portion which protects the &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester from di-salt formation. The resulting composition improves the stability of the &agr;-sulfofatty acid ester after manufacture, during shipping and storage, and in detergents. The invention further included detergents containing the invented composition, and methods of making such detergents.
