  • Patent number: 9643109
Abstract: A filter device has a filter element (3) received in a filter housing (1) and has a holding device (19) for detachably fixing the filter element in the filter housing (1). Corresponding threads (23, 33) form a screw connection between a housing cover (5) of the filter housing (1) and the filter element (3). A sealing device (29, 35) imparts a sealing action between the filter element (3) and the housing cover (5). The screw connection is formed by threads (23, 33) situated in the interior (22) of the filter element (3). The thread (33) assigned to the filter element (3) is situated on a connecting pipe piece (31) that, as a constituent part of an end cap (17) of the filter element (3), extends into the inner filter cavity (22) of the filter element (3). The thread (23) assigned to the housing cover (5) is situated on a receiving pipe piece (21), which can be screwed to the connecting pipe piece (31) of the filter element (3).

  • Patent number: 9533244
Abstract: A filter device has a filter housing having two separable housing parts (1 and 11) that can receive at least one filter element (21). The housing parts can be connected to one another by a coupling device (7). The filter element (21), or an adapter that can be connected to it, forms a functionally essential component of the coupling device (7). Only when the filter element (21) has been placed in its functional position within at least one of the housing parts (1, 11), can the housing parts (1, 11) be connected to form the filter housing of a functional filter device.

Abstract: A filter device, in particular for fluids polluted with admixtures of water, such as diesel oil, includes a filter housing (1) having a fluid inlet (51), a fluid outlet and at least one filter element (9). During the filtering process, fluid can flow through the filter medium (11) of the filter element from the unfiltered side (13) to the filtered side (19) of the filter medium. The filtered side surrounds an inner filter cavity (17). On one side of the filter medium (11), a water-separating device (26) and a separating region (27) for separated water are present. The filter element (9) has a passage (43) that forms a fluid connection to the filter cavity (17) and at least one water opening (47) that is open toward the separating region (27). The filter element can be fixed to an element receptacle (29) of the filter housing (1) and can be connected to a water collecting chamber (33).

  • Patent number: 9421481
Abstract: A filtering device includes multiple filtering elements (3) with bodies defining longitudinal axes. The filtering elements (3) are arranged adjacent to one another in a housing such that the longitudinal axes extend parallel to one another. The bodies of at least some of the filtering elements (3) have a shape that deviates from a circular cylinder at at least one part of the body length. The filtering elements (3) with bodies having a shape deviating from a circular cylinder have a cross-sectional size at least partially changing from one end to the other end. The filtering elements are oriented in the housing such that the regions of a larger cross-section are associated with the regions of a smaller cross-section in adjacent filtering elements.

  • Patent number: 9302207
Abstract: A process separates out and removes water present in liquid fuels. The fuel supplies an internal combustion engine by a fuel delivery pump (12). Water is separated out at a filter (5) having a collecting space (27) for collecting separated water and connected upstream of the suction side (11) of the fuel delivery pump (12). The pump suction action counteracts outflow of water from the collecting space (27). Depending on the amount of water collected, the pump suction action is negated, and an outlet valve at an outflow orifice (37) of the collecting space (27) is opened by a discharge (43, 53) producing a pressure gradient enabling the discharge of water from the collecting space (27) over a discharge period when the fuel delivery pump (12) is operating.
