  • Patent number: 8899233
Abstract: A method for enabling transfer of an object from an interior of an airlock to a pressure vessel attached to the airlock and ensuring that an exterior door of the airlock cannot be opened when the interior of the airlock is pressurized includes actuating a first selector from a first position to a second position whereby the first selector causes the exterior door to be locked and sealed. Thereafter, actuating a second selector from a first position to a second position thereby closing a vent from the interior of the airlock to the atmosphere. Thereafter, actuating a third selector from a first position to a second position thereby opening a vent between the interior of the airlock and the pressure vessel thereby enabling a door between the interior of the pressure vessel and the interior of the airlock to be opened.

  • Patent number: 8025056
Abstract: A portable hyperbaric chamber system includes a soft-sided, foldable hyperbaric chamber and a substantially rigid, removable, external support structure. The chamber generally includes a wall of a substantially non-breathable, soft-sided, and foldable material and an accessway sealable with a non-breathable closure so as to maintain a hyperbaric pressure within the chamber. The chamber also includes at least one fastener, such as a bolt or threaded stud, extending from the wall that permits the chamber to be removably attached to the support structure, thereby to maintain the chamber in an uncollapsed state when the chamber interior is not maintained at a hyperbaric pressure. The support structure includes structures complementary to the fasteners (e.g., apertures to pass bolts and locking knobs to secure bolts).

  • Patent number: 8011470
Abstract: A hyperbaric oxygen therapy system includes a pressure vessel containing a gas, an oxygen concentration measurement apparatus for monitoring the concentration of oxygen in the gas, an environmental control apparatus for controlling the temperature of the gas in the vessel, and a pressure/ventilation control apparatus for controlling the pressure of the gas in the vessel. The pressure vessel is capable of accommodating a patient. The oxygen concentration measurement apparatus includes an oxygen concentration analyzer and a plurality of gas lines connecting the oxygen analyzer to the pressure vessel. The pressure/ventilation control apparatus includes a pressure controlling valve, a pressure sensor, a ventilation valve, and a controller having a programmable pressure profile. The environmental control apparatus includes a scrubber, a heat exchanger and a blower located within the pressure vessel. A compressor for the system includes a compressor silencer.

  • Patent number: 7634999
Abstract: A hyperbaric chamber includes a collapsible, pressurizable bladder and an inflatable support member supporting the bladder in a substantially uncollapsed configuration. The inflatable support member may be either internal or external to the bladder, and, in embodiments, is a rib with curvature corresponding generally to the uncollapsed shape of the bladder. A stiffening stave may provide additional support. The bladder further includes an accessway into the interior thereof and a substantially non-breathable closure on the accessway. The closure includes a substantially air-impermeable gasket sandwiched between first and second zippers. A reinforcing zipper may provide additional strength to the closure. Similarly, a reinforcing harness substantially surrounding the bladder may provide additional strength to the bladder. A source of compressed air is in fluid communication with the interior of the bladder, and a cooling source may also be provided.
