Abstract: A malleable wax-based antioxidant is provided for use between two electrical connectors. To form the example antioxidant, a wax-base is melted and particles, such as, for example, zinc particles, are provided in suspension with the melted wax. The suspension is then cooled and formed into a shape by, for example, molding, extrusion, die cutting, or other suitable forming method. The antioxidant remains viscose under normal operating temperatures of the electrical connector to avoid oozing and/or running out of the antioxidant, thus better preventing oxidation of the connector. The particles keep the connections running cool, particularly with aluminum to aluminum connections.
Abstract: A female terminal for an electrical connector may generally include a socket with an opening for receiving a male terminal, a first pair of contacts, a second pair of contacts, a pair of crimping members, and positioning tabs. The socket may be defined by a pair of opposing sidewalls, a top, and a bottom, at least in examples where the socket is generally rectangular. The first and second pairs of contacts may be disposed along the pair of opposing sidewalls, projecting at least partially into the socket configured to contact and exert substantially the same normal force on a male terminal that is inserted into the socket. The pair of crimping members can be utilized to secure a wire to the female terminal, and the positioning tabs may be utilized to secure the female terminal within the electrical connector.
Abstract: A battery powered, personal air sampler is described which uses a closed loop control circuit to adjust the power that is delivered to an internal pump such that a stable and accurate flow rate is maintained independent of changes in inlet pressure due to filter loading. Furthermore, the described personal air sampler provides improved efficiency to the entire electronic and flow pumping system which, in turn functions to optimize the available battery run time of the device.
Abstract: An electrical buss has a carrier and at least a pair of electrically conductive elements. The at least a pair of electrically conductive elements extend linearly along a length of the carrier and at least a portion of each of the least a pair of electrically conductive elements is exposed at a surface of the carrier. A connector is releasably couplable to the electrical buss adjacent to the surface of the carrier. The connector has at least a pair of electrically conductive contacts for engaging with the electrically conductive elements at any desired location along the length of the carrier.

Abstract: An example low voltage buss system is provided. The low voltage bus system distributes low voltage DC power into the office workspace in a manner that reduces clutter and promotes customizable and efficient workspace usage. The low voltage bus system distributes low voltage DC power into the office workspace via an electrical buss having a connector at the end of the buss to distribute low voltage DC power to and throughout office workspace and, in particular, office furniture.

Abstract: A connector includes a main housing element for holding smart connector circuitry. A threaded nub extends from the main housing element and is sized to be received within a knock-out of a junction box. The threaded nub has a first opening and a second opening separated by a barrier for allowing respective ones of power wires and dimming wires, which are coupled to the smart connector circuitry, to be passed from the main housing element to the junction box.
Abstract: A splice connector, such as a twist-on wire connector, is pre-filled with a plurality of compounds arranged in a corresponding plurality of layers. When the twist-on wire connector is applied to the electrical conductors, the compounds will generally remain in the plurality of layers to thereby allow each of the compounds to perform a different, intended function.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pre-commissioning a wireless lighting control system. The method includes the steps of defining a name of a space having a lighting control installed, scanning in at least one wireless lighting component using a mobile application (“mobile app”), scanning in at least one gateway unit using the mobile app, scanning in at least one peripheral control unit using the mobile app, creating associations with the at least one wireless lighting component, the at least one peripheral control unit, and the at least one gateway unit, installing the at least one wireless lighting component, the at least one peripheral control unit, and the at least one gateway unit, uploading a complete list of products in the space to a system web application using the mobile app, uploading the complete list of products in the space to a gateway unit that controls the space using the system web application, and powering on all of the products in the space.
Abstract: An assembly includes a light source holding component sized and arranged to securely receive a source of light. The light source holding component may include a displaceable protective device that functions to generally protect against an accidental touching of electrical terminals of the light source holding component. An accessory mounting feature may also be provided to the light source holding component, The accessory mounting feature is adapted to cooperate with an accessory to provide a seal against a surface to which the light source holding component is attached. The light source holding component may have wire ports that are formed within an overall general outer diameter of the light source holding component. By way of example, the wire ports may include wire contacts having wires pre-attached thereto or the wire ports may include electrical connectors of the push-in type for receiving and thereupon holding wires inserted therein.
