Publication number: 20230231211Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods for managing power in a hybrid battery cartridge. The hybrid battery cartridge may output single-use battery power, rechargeable battery power, or both. Thus, a single battery cartridge may store multiple types of batteries and allow the batteries to be used separately or concurrently. In one example usage, the battery cartridge may be inserted into other devices to provide power. Additionally, the intelligent hybrid battery cartridge may be used as a stand-alone charger to charge other devices. The intelligent hybrid battery cartridge is designed to allow for retrofitting into existing single-use battery powered devices such as flashlights and lanterns to make them hybrid power enabled. The hybrid battery cartridge may select a power source based the type of load and/or on a reserve power threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2023Publication date: July 20, 2023Applicant: IdeaPond LLCInventor: Dennis K. Publication number: 20220290832Abstract: The broad view headlamp includes a plurality of light sources that illuminate an area in front of the headlamp, an area adjacent to each side of the headlamp, and an area below the headlamp. The headlamp includes a number of lighting modes, such that any one of the light sources can be operated individually or in combination with any one or more of the remaining light sources. The headlamp housing has multiple lighting compartments, each having one or more light sources disposed therein. Each compartment includes an optical lens. The various light sources, together with the optical lenses, allow the headlamp to illuminate a view area extending to, at least, the outer boundaries of the far peripheral vision of the human eye, i.e., 110 degrees to the right and left of center. Thus, the total combined view area illuminated by the headlamp is at least 220 degrees.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2022Publication date: September 15, 2022Applicant: IdeaPond LLCInventor: Dennis Bertken

Publication number: 20200340636Abstract: The light fixture has two separate and distinct portions, i.e., a lower portion and an upper portion, that are magnetically connected to one another. The lower portion contains a light source; a rechargeable battery; provision for an auxiliary power source; and an inductive power receiving loop. Further, depending on the objectives of the user, the lower portion may also contain a USB port, a motion sensor and/or a momentary push-button switch. The upper portion contains a solar panel and an inductive power transmitting loop. The rechargeable battery is charged inductively through electromagnetic induction, using electricity generated by the one or more solar panels. The rechargeable battery can also be charged using the USB port. The magnetic connection between the upper and lower portions allows them to join to one another through thin material, such as an umbrella canopy, tent wall, or awning, without damaging the material.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2018Publication date: October 29, 2020Applicant: IDEAPOND LLCInventor: Dennis Bertken
