  • Patent number: 10766288
Abstract: A method and device for producing a target image having pixels (2) juxtaposed in a substrate (1) presenting thickness and producing an image presenting thickness such that each pixel (2) produces a shadowing effect on its neighboring pixels. The method includes: determining a production setpoint from the target image; and producing an image made by the device using the production setpoint. The determining operation replaces the production setpoint with an improved production setpoint that is determined by modeling the image production device using a transfer function for transforming a production setpoint into a predicted image; and determining an improved production setpoint in which the image produced by the transfer function is as close as possible to the target image, so as to reduce the consequences of the shadowing effect in the resulting image. Also included is the image produced by such a method.

  • Patent number: 10721081
Abstract: An authentication method is performed between a first party and a second party. The method includes: i) determining a challenge; ii) sending the challenge to the second party; receiving a response from the second party including a second cryptogram; computing a first cryptogram using the challenge and the key of the first party; determining if the first cryptogram matches the second cryptogram received from the second party. If the first cryptogram does not match the second cryptogram, the method further includes performing a computation using the first cryptogram and the second cryptogram; and comparing a result of the computation with a stored set of results to recover a first data element carried by the second cryptogram.

  • Patent number: 10715527
Abstract: A method of managing profiles in a secure element where the secure element includes an active first profile associated with a first communication network and a second profile associated with a second communication network. The method includes deactivating the first profile and activating the second profile, where the deactivation and the activation are implemented following detection of a failure during a local verification pertaining to the first profile for the use of this the first profile. A local verification may be a verification in the secure element of the authorization of access of a user to the first profile, for example three failures of PIN or PUK code or of biometric authentication data, the local verification being performed in the secure element, and the failure being relative to a security failure of the first profile or to an operating failure of the first profile.

  • Patent number: 10701557
Abstract: Authentication device and method for a system that includes a subscriber device and a companion device. The authentication method includes the subscriber device delivering to the companion device a temporary profile and an authentication response signed by the subscriber device for sending to a server, installing the temporary profile to configure a second wireless communication interface of the companion device, and requesting a second authentication from the server via the second interface by using the delivered authentication response so as to authorize the second interface when the companion device and the subscriber device are not in communication with each other via the first communication interface. The device and method may be used by systems that include a subscriber device (e.g., a mobile telephone) and a companion device, e.g. a connected watch or object.

  • Patent number: 10672214
Abstract: A method and corresponding electronic device for securing the device. The device and method may include operations for: receiving a command requesting a modification of an operating parameter of the electronic device (C2); detecting whether the operating parameter is a parameter that is predefined as a sensitive parameter; and if so, determining whether the modification requested by the command, if applied, would lead to a degradation of the security of the electronic device. The determining may be done by comparing the initial state of the parameter on receiving the command with a new state for giving to the operating parameter in response to the command. And, in the event of the security of the electronic device being degraded, triggering an operation of securing the electronic device in response to the first command.

  • Patent number: 10552826
Abstract: A card includes a secure element hosting a plurality of applications, at least one external interface and a user interface having user-selectable modes. Each mode is associated with multiple applications. A store at the secure element holds response data for responding to the external card reader and correspondence data. The response data includes data about the applications hosted by the card and the correspondence data indicates, for each mode, a correspondence between the mode and the response data to be sent for that mode. The card allows a user to select one of the plurality of modes for use when the card next communicates with the external reader. The card stores a mode indicator indicative of a mode selected by the user at the user interface and stores a usage indicator indicative of whether the card has communicated with an external reader since the mode indicator was stored.

  • Patent number: 10504109
Abstract: Methods and devices for enabling authentication may include a first stage in which a first electronic device of the first entity communicates with a second electronic device of the second entity via a telecommunications network. During the first stage, the first electronic device generates a first token and transmits it from the first electronic device to the second electronic device via the network; and the second electronic device generates a third token and transmits the third token to the first electronic device via the network. During a second stage, authenticating a first non-authenticated entity as being the second entity as a function of a second token contained in a first portable electronic device of the first non-authenticated entity occurs; and authenticating a non-authenticated entity as being the first entity as a function of a fourth token contained in a second portable electronic device of the second non-authenticated entity also occurs.
