Abstract: The invention relates to a strain of Lactobacillus sakei called Lactobacillus sakei LHIS2885 strain, and to a strain derived from L. sakei LHIS2885. The invention also relates to the use of a strain of L. sakei, preferably the strain LHIS2885 or a strain derived from LHIS2885, for the preservation of food products, preferably products from the sea.

Abstract: A method of enzymatic extraction of chitin is realized in a single step wherein the chitin is obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of raw material constituted by animal biomass including chitin, the enzymatic hydrolysis using an enzyme active in acid medium. Also disclosed is a process of optimization of the method of enzymatic extraction of chitin, as well as the chitin susceptible to be obtained by the method of enzymatic extraction.

Abstract: Exopolysaccharides, preferably obtained by fermenting bacteria from deep hydrothermal ecosystems, serve as agents for preventing the formation of unwanted biofilms on a surface. A method for protecting a surface by preventing the formation of the primary film leading to unwanted biofilms, includes placing the surface in contact with at least one exopolysaccharide, or grafting the exopolysaccharide onto the surface. A method for modifying the physical properties of a surface such that the adhesion of an unwanted bacterial biofilm to the surface is reduced is also described.

Abstract: A device for salvaging a marine or submarine engine, this device comprising: a supple tie line (20) having a first end (21) to be connected to the engine (80), a bobbin (30) to which is connected a second end (22) of the supple tie line (20), the supple tie line being adapted to be wound around the bobbin, and a ballast charge (50) adapted to be combined with the bobbin (30). The bobbin (30) and the ballast charge (50) are such that the bobbin combined with the charge sinks, while the bobbin released from the charge floats; and the supple tie line (20) and the bobbin (30) cooperate such that the bobbin is released from the charge (50) by the unwinding of the supple tie line (20) wound around the bobbin (30).

Abstract: Apparatus for recovering a surface marine vehicle or an underwater vehicle, in particular an AUV, the apparatus comprising a frame (14) defining a housing into which the vehicle (1) can penetrate via an entrance, and further comprising: reception means (18) for receiving the nose of the vehicle (1), reception means being capable of moving along said housing when the vehicle penetrates therein, said reception means (18) possessing sufficient freedom of movement relative to the frame (14) to be able to follow the movement of the vehicle while the reception means and the vehicle are situated in the vicinity of the entrance of the housing; and guide means (58, 60) for guiding the reception means (18) when the vehicle penetrates into the housing, and for causing the reception means (18) and the vehicle (1) to become aligned therealong by progressively limiting their freedom to move relative to the frame as the vehicle penetrates into the housing.
