    Abstract: A seat device (12) including a seat back (16) having an upper seat back frame portion (34), a lower seat back frame portion (36), and a pivotal connection for pivotally supporting and connecting the upper seat back frame portion (34) to the lower seat back frame portion (36) about a pivot pin (38). A positioner extends between the two seat back frame portions and is provided with at least one motor (66), connected to a threaded shaft (62), which drives the positioner. The motor (66) is resiliently mounted to one of the seat back frame portions (34,36) using flexible bushings (80) which absorb the play between the upper and lower seat back frame portions (34,36) when the two are pivoted relative to one another.

    Abstract: A seatback frame (21) is disclosed as having an inverted U-shaped frame member (22) including an elongated and generally horizontal upper member (23) and a pair of elongated side members (24) and (25) respectively extending generally downwardly from the extremities of the upper member. A pair of side panels (28 and 29) are respectively secured to and extend generally forwardly from each side member and have inwardly facing surfaces that oppose each other. A resilient lumbar supporting panel (35) having lateral extremities is forwardly spaced from the side members proximate the side panels and is generally concave therebetween. It has a central portion that extends generally upwardly and is secured to a central portion of the upper member. The lateral extremities form retrorse portions (41) that extend generally rearwardly along the opposed surfaces of the side panels, and the rearmost margins (43) of the retrorse portions are attached to the side panels.

    Abstract: A vehicle seat is provided with a seat belt winding retractor, in which the seat belt retractor is secured through a fixed bracket to the side section rear end side of a seat cushion. A wire guide is attached to the fixed bracket to guide a seat belt in a flattened state to the entrance of the seat belt winding retractor. The guide allows for the winding and unwinding of the belt by preventing bending and twisting of the seat belt, especially when a front seat back is folded forward to allow entry to the rear seat.
