Patents Assigned to Imperial Underground Sprinkler Co.
  • Patent number: 5335688
Abstract: A pressure-regulating valve system includes a valve body assembly having inlet, outlet and control chambers. A flow valve assembly includes a diaphragm gasket which movably mounts a valve member. The valve member is movable between a closed position, a full flow open position and two pressure-regulating positions intermediate its closed and full flow positions. A full flow bypass valve assembly selectively communicates the control chamber and the outlet chamber for relieving the fluid pressure in the control chamber whereby the flow valve moves to its full flow open position communicating the inlet and outlet chambers. A pressure regulating subsystem includes multiple pressure regulating modules each having a solenoid-actuated valve and a pressure adjustable valve. The pressure regulating modules are connected in parallel relationship to inlet and outlet manifolds which fluidically communicate with the control and outlet chambers respectively.

  • Patent number: 5210376
Abstract: A connecting device includes a body with an open end, a closed end and a body bore extending therebetween. A core includes an open end, a closed end and a core bore extending therebetween. The body bore is partly filled with potting compound in proximity to its closed end. The device has a closed position with the core inserted into the body bore and the core open end embedded in the potting compound to form a hermetically sealed pocket in the core bore. The body closed end has wire passages which receive wires therethrough. The wires are electrically connected in the sealed pocket. A method of connecting wires includes the steps of providing a body, providing a core telescopically receivable in the body, partly filling the body with potting compound, extending wires into the body and through the potting compound, connecting the wires, inserting the core into the body over the connected wires and forming a hermetically sealed pocket in the core bore.

  • Patent number: 4783004
Abstract: A rotary, pop-up sprinkler is provided which includes an in-ground container. A motor is reciprocably mounted in the container and includes a stator, a plate assembly mounted on the stator and a rotor rotatably received in the stator. The rotor includes a turret with a nozzle orifice. Hydraulic pressures on the rotor are balanced whereby anti-rotational drag is substantially reduced. A speed regulator is provided for maintaining a relatively constant rotational speed when the sprinkler is subjected to variances in hydraulic pressure.

  • Patent number: 4491686
Abstract: An electrical connector for insulating a connection between at least two wires. The connector includes a cup shaped casing and an inner core, each having a closed end and an open end. The inner core is received within the casing defining a fully enclosed sealed cavity therein in which an insulating compound is received. The casing includes an end wall which has a plurality of recesses extending inwardly of a surface thereof terminating in thin covering membrane. A piercing member is provided for forming apertures in each of the membranes for receipt of a wire therethrough, said apertures each having a diameter slightly less than an associated wire extending therethrough providing a snug fit therearound, thereby sealing the connector cavity.

  • Patent number: 4477026
Abstract: A bubbler head for use on a sprinkler or irrigation system comprises a body having a water passageway and an air passageway therethrough. The water passageway extends radially outwardly from a central entrance and includes a serpentine portion. Air is drawn through the air passageway and is thoroughly mixed with the water in a mixing chamber prior to the mixture being sprinkled or discharged onto the ground in a nonerosive fashion.
