Abstract: Tilting harness for receiving and for handling heavy spools or rolls with the help of a rolling frame guided in a crane carriage, and a mandrel arranged on the rolling frame, the mandrel serving to lock in the core bore of the roll with a radially extendable clamping jaw, whereby the drive for the operation of the clamping jaw comprises a spring-stressed tilting lever, which can be tilted by means of a cam against the force of the spring in the retracted position of the clamping jaw.
Abstract: A spool for materials which can be wound, such as ropes, cables and the like, includes a spool core and two spool flanges positioned on its axial ends, the flanges including a support structure having radial support members positioned between an inner ring and an outer ring, and an inside surface-like casing is supported on the support structure, the casing consisting of a plurality of individual segments, each segment being disposed between the radial support members, the segments being detachably fastened to the support structure.
Abstract: Apparatus for the lifting of coils, spools and the like of the type which have an interior opening includes a carrying shaft, guide tracks arranged circumferentially about the carrying shaft, and clamping segments disposed on the guide tracks for movement in a radial and a vertical direction, the clamping segments and guide tracks having a cooperable aperture and a cross shaft accommodated in the aperture such that the cross shaft moves in the aperture during relative movement between the guide tracks and the clamping segments. The carrying shaft has an outer conical surface and the clamping segments have an inner conical surface engaging the outer conical surface on the carrying shaft.
Abstract: A dismantable reel for wire coils includes first and second circular flanges. An annular channel is formed at least in the first flange and a hub is supported within the channel for axial movement relative to the flange. A plurality of expandable and retractable core segments depend from the hub and are selectively engageable with the outer surface of a wire coil to retain the coil within the reel. An axial core tube is supported concentrically within the hub and is movable axially relative thereto. Spreadable link members are disposed between the core segments and the axial core tube. A hollow axle is carried rotatably by the hub within the axial core tube. Such axle is also movable axially relative to the hub. The lower end of the axle is threaded and is cooperable with threads provided on the second flange whereby the second flange is releasably connectable therewith.
Abstract: A reel for cables, wires or the like having a core and a central bore hole in the core for the mounting of a spindle sleeve or the spindle of a processing machine includes hub means on the longitudinal ends of the core, the hub means having an outer cylindrical bore hole juxtaposed to an inner conical bore hole with the outer cylindrical bore hole being of a larger diameter than the largest diameter of the conical bore hole.
