Abstract: A music and audio playback system is implemented on a computer with a playback engine that enables the operator to apply a variety of effects. The system may store one or more snapshots, or a combination of settings for a plurality of controls that are applied by the playback engine. These snapshots allow for changes to settings for effects, mixing and playback to be made quickly, some of which would normally be difficult to perform. A sampler module permits a user to specify one or more samples that may be triggered for playback. The most frequently used samples may be designated as scratching files that may be quickly activated through the push of a button (or other control). Additionally, a waveform display represents a window of audio samples around a current playback time.
Abstract: A scanner for a handheld computing device is disclosed. The scanner includes a housing. A USB port is on the housing. The scanner also includes a memory. A scanning microprocessor is configured and arranged to scan and store images on the memory. An USB controller is configured and arranged to mount the memory as a USB mass storage class device to a handheld computing device connected to the USB port.
Abstract: A keytar is disclosed. The keytar has a keyboard body having a front face, left side, right side and rear face. A piano-style keyboard with a number of keys is on the front face of the keyboard body. A neck extends from either the left or the right side and the left side of the keyboard body. A number of drum pads are on the front face of the keyboard body. A microprocessor is electrically connected to the drum pads. The microprocessor is configured and arranged to scan the state of each of the drum pads and generate a MIDI note signal corresponding to the state each drum pad. The keytar may further include an accelerometer to provide music effects and an internal sound engine to generate analog audio.
Abstract: A case for a tablet computer is disclosed. The case includes an upper portion having a body portion configured and arranged to secure a tablet computer therein. The body portion has a rim defining an opening into the body portion to access a touch screen of the tablet computer. The case further includes a lower portion and a double hinge connecting the lower portion to the upper portion. A plurality of music controls is located on the lower portion that are configured and arranged to provide control inputs to the tablet computer.

Abstract: An improved disc jockey turntable is disclosed. The turntable includes a housing having an I/O circuit, an audio output electrically connected to the I/O circuit, a rotatable platter configured and arranged to received a vinyl record thereon, an electric motor is configured to selectively rotate the platter, a movable tonearm with a pickup cartridge is electrically connected to the I/O circuit whereby the tonearm may be moved over the platter and placed on a vinyl record rotating on the platter to play audio out through the audio output. A dock is located on the housing and is configured to cradle a portable music player. The dock has a communication port for connecting to the portable music player. A control circuit is electrically connected to the communication port and the I/O circuit, and is configured to selectively recording audio from the I/O circuit to the portable music player.
Abstract: A music and audio playback system is implemented on a computer with a playback engine that enables the operator, typically a disk jockey, to apply a variety of effects. The system may store one or more snapshots, or a combination of settings for a plurality of controls that are applied by the playback engine. The settings that may be stored in a snapshot may be for effects, deck controls and/or mix settings. A waveform display represents a window of audio samples around a current playback time. When two tracks are being played, only half of each waveform is shown.
