Patents Assigned to Innio Waukesha Gas Engines Inc.
  • Patent number: 11852108
Abstract: A gas compression system may include a gas compressor having a compressor rod, a piston, and an interior chamber. The gas compressor may receive a process gas at a first pressure, pressurize the process gas via the piston, and output the process gas at a second pressure higher than the first. Additionally, an internal combustion engine coupled to the gas compressor may, during operation, actuate the compressor rod and generate exhaust gas. The gas compression system may also include a packing case, disposed around the compressor rod and fluidly coupled to the interior chamber. The packing case may receive and direct the exhaust gas to counter a flow of the process gas through the packing case from the interior chamber.

  • Patent number: 11808183
Abstract: A system is provided. The system includes a reciprocating engine configured to consume oil at or less than 0.25 g/kw-hr and to use makeup oil. The reciprocating engine includes an engine oil sump. The system is configured to maintain an oil volume in the reciprocating engine during operation so that a residence time of oil in the reciprocating engine is at or less than 1000 hours.

  • Patent number: 11773832
Abstract: A seal assembly between first and second passages of an engine block and a gear box assembly of a reciprocating engine. The seal assembly includes a conduit having a first end portion disposed inside of the first fluid passage and a second end portion disposed outside of the first fluid passage in fluid communication with the second passage of the gear box assembly. The seal assembly includes a collar disposed about the second end portion of the conduit, and a radial sealing interface disposed between an outer conduit surface of the conduit and an inner collar surface of the collar, wherein the radial sealing interface supports a first radial seal. The seal assembly includes an axial sealing interface disposed between an axial face of the collar and an opposing axial face of the gear box assembly, wherein the axial sealing interface supports a face seal.

  • Patent number: 11566577
Abstract: A compression monitoring system for a reciprocating engine includes a controller configured to terminate combustion within a combustion chamber of the reciprocating engine while a crankshaft of the reciprocating engine is rotating. The controller is also configured to receive an input signal from a sensor indicative of vibration within a cylinder extending from the combustion chamber while the crankshaft is rotating and the combustion is terminated. Furthermore, the controller is configured to determine a magnitude of the vibration within a frequency range and to determine a maximum pressure within the cylinder based on the magnitude of the vibration within the frequency range. The controller is also configured to output an output signal indicative of the maximum pressure within the cylinder and/or control operation of the reciprocating engine based on the maximum pressure within the cylinder.
