  • Patent number: 6512160
Abstract: A bandage is adapted to receive a printed graphic image which is printed by a personal home printer. The predetermined graphic image may be chosen from a graphics library loaded onto a personal computer, a graphic image designed by an operator or a graphic image downloaded from the internet. The bandage includes a first layer treated with a coating on one planar side, the coating bonding with the printed graphic image in a waterproof manner. The bandage further includes a second pressure sensitive adhesive layer disposed on another planar side of the first layer, and a third liner layer which overlays the second adhesive layer. The third liner layer is selectively removable from the second adhesive layer to expose the second adhesive layer.

  • Patent number: 6208686
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically optimizing occupied bandwidth of a direct modulated FM radio comprises a remote receiver that periodically monitors the received output of a local transmitter and compares the received output occupied bandwidth to a reference level. If the monitored level of the demodulated signal unacceptably exceeds the reference level an error message is developed and sent back to the local transmitter to cause the output of the local transmitter to be adjusted to more closely conform to the desired spectrum output mask. An alternative embodiment is also disclosed in which temperature and operating frequency are monitored at the local transmitter and a correction factor appropriate for that operating temperature and frequency are applied.

  • Patent number: 6064862
Abstract: The system and method of the present invention facilitates the selection of a portion of an operating bandwidth and frequency of a digital microwave radio. The components include a transceiver mounted to a mounting plate having waveguide ports. The input and output of the receiver and transmitter portions of the transceiver module occur through the two waveguide ports of the plate. A diplexer inserted within the slot of an interface is externally mounted in relation to the mounting plate and to transceiver unit. The microwave energy from the transceiver module is coupled through the mounting plate, diplexer, interface and antenna. Because of the external mounting arrangement of the diplexer, interface, selecting an operating portion of the available bandwidth may occur after complete manufacture of the digital microwave radio.

  • Patent number: 6011807
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining synchronization and loss of synchronization in a high speed multiplexed data system. The system also includes a plurality of justification control bits and a backwards compatibility flag that allows the system to operate with older systems that have fewer justification control bits.

  • Patent number: 5987060
Abstract: The invention provides radio communications with an up-down signal link. In accordance with the purpose of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, the invention is directed to a method, system and computer readable medium with program instructions (hereafter collectively referred to as "the invention"). The invention includes receiving a downstream signal in a receiver portion of an outdoor unit, producing in the receiver portion of the outdoor unit an intermediate frequency (IF) signal from the downstream signal, and processing the IF signal in the receiver portion of the outdoor unit to produce a clean line code signal.

  • Patent number: 5642121
Abstract: A diverging shall antenna fed by a waveguide supplying TE.sub.11 mode is described. A dielectric rod partially contained within the waveguide converts the TE.sub.11 mode to a dominant or HE.sub.11 mode. The HE.sub.11 mode is controllably converted to second and third order modes in the diverging shell by discontinuities placed in predetermined locations in the diverging shell. The discontinuities generating the second mode are incorporated into the dielectric rod structure. Turning of the relative amplitude and phase of the second and third order modes relative to the HE.sub.11 mode is achieved by slideably positioning the dielectric rod. An alternative embodiment of the inventive device includes a reactive surface of the diverging shell.
