    Abstract: A circumcision device is provided by the present invention. The device comprises two jaws configured to crush a foreskin between them along a crush region transverse to a foreskin and transverse to a general direction in which a penis being circumcised extends. The jaws are movable between an open inoperative position and a closed operative position in which a clamping and crushing force may be exerted to promote hemostasis within the crush region. The device includes a cutting assembly capable of traversing and severing a crushed foreskin within or adjacent the crush region. The invention extends to a glans penis protector comprising a handle separable from a transverse glans penis engaging cover so that the handle can be separated from the glans penis engaging cover during a circumcision procedure.

    Abstract: A circumcision device is provided by the present invention and includes a body and a glans penis locating and protecting member permanently or releasably associated with the body. The body and glans penis locating member between them support a foreskin crushing assembly that includes a crushing surface that includes an axis extending in the general direction of a penis being circumcised in use, a cooperating crushing member, and a mechanism for operating the foreskin crushing assembly. A cutting assembly is also provided that is rotatable about said axis relative to the crushing surface so as to be capable of severing a foreskin adjacent the foreskin crushing assembly. The cutting assembly includes a cutting blade movable between a withdrawn position and an operative extended condition in which the blade may be rotated about said axis to cooperate with the crushing surface or a foreskin located thereon.

    Abstract: A multifunction electrocautery tool includes an elongated housing within which a generally cylindrical suction tube is slidably supported. A slide control is mechanically coupled to the suction tube and movable to control the retraction and extension thereof. The slide control includes an aperture coupled to the suction passage of the suction tube to facilitate a single finger or thumb control of the suction tube position and suctioning action. A cauterizing and cutting blade is supported proximate the suction tube and is coupled to a source of RF electrical energy by a connecting wire. In one embodiment, electrical controls for the cauterizing blade are supported upon the upper surface of the elongated housing while a pair of oppositely positioned slide controls are provided on right hand and left hand side surfaces to facilitate either right or left hand operation.

    Abstract: Each of a plurality of modules (A) have fittings (14) with automatically closed check valves (16) therein such that the interior of the module is hermetically sealed. The module is selectively interconnected with a sterilizer apparatus (B). Interconnecting tubing (60) selectively supplies liquid from a reservoir (30) to the module. A sterilant injection chamber (56) receives and punctures a sterilant ampule such that incoming water mixes with the sterilant concentrate forming a sterilant solution which is carried to the reservoir. A reservoir outlet valve (70) selectively permits the sterilant solution to pass from the reservoir through the interconnecting tubing into the module until the module and interconnecting tubing are completely filled. Thereafter, the reservoir outlet valve closes holding the sterilant in the interconnecting tubing as well as the module for sufficient duration to sterilize both. Concurrently, additional tap water is heated in the reservoir until it is sterile.
