  • Patent number: 9930462
Abstract: A system and method for on-site calibration of a plurality of microphones in a three-dimensional space are provided. The method includes causing a generation of a plurality of transmissions; causing each microphone to capture each transmission, wherein one of the microphones is selected as a reference microphone; estimating, for each microphone, a plurality of location pointers based on the captured transmissions, wherein each location pointer represents a time difference between the microphone and the reference microphone; determining, based on each location pointer, at least one location parameter for each microphone; and calibrating the plurality of microphones based on the at least one location parameter.

  • Publication number: 20180020287
Abstract: A system and method for processing sounds. The sound processing system includes a sound sensing unit including a plurality of microphones, wherein each microphone is configured to capture non-manipulated sound signals; a beam synthesizer including a plurality of first modules, each first module corresponding to one of the plurality of microphones, wherein each first module is configured to filter the non-manipulated sound signals captured by the corresponding microphone to generate filtered sound signals; and a sound analyzer communicatively connected to the sound sensing unit and to the beam synthesizer, wherein the sound analyzer is configured to generate a manipulated sound beam based on the filtered sound signals.

  • Patent number: 9716946
Abstract: A system and method for determining an optimal arrangement of microphones for coverage of target sound sources are provided. The method includes receiving at least one geometric constraint respective of a three-dimensional microphone space, wherein the microphone space defines a location for possible deployment of a plurality of microphones; receiving information related to the sound sources, wherein sound sources include at least one target sound source; simulating sound distribution patterns from each of the least target sound sources and each microphone in the deployment of the plurality of microphones; selecting based, in part, on the simulated sound distribution patterns at least one contributing microphone from the deployment of the plurality of microphones; and outputting the optimal arrangement to include the least one contributing microphone.
