  • Patent number: 8217589
Abstract: A method is provided for driving at least one lamp unit, which is connected to an AC voltage power supply system. The method comprises modulating a control information item for the operation of the lamp unit onto the supplied AC voltage, decoding of the modulation received on the lamp unit side for reading the control information item and driving the light-emitting device in accordance with the control information item. Provision is made for a shunt to be produced in the line used for transmitting the control information item prior to or at the beginning of the modulation of the control information item. The disclosure also provides a lamp unit and a control device for implementing the method. The disclosure also provides a lighting system.

  • Patent number: 8139335
Abstract: A protective circuit for electrical connection to solar cells of a solar cell module is provided with a protective circuit that has a controlled electronic circuit arrangement. In this way, only minimal heating of the protective circuit for electrical connection of solar cells of a solar cell module occurs in operation. The controlled electronic circuit arrangement can have a trigger circuit and a switching arrangement which can be triggered by the trigger circuit, the switching arrangement being connected parallel to at least one solar cell, and in the case of shading of the solar cells, is at least temporarily activated by the trigger circuit so that a current bypass for the shaded solar cell is achieved.

  • Patent number: 7025477
Abstract: An illumination apparatus which comprises a housing and a circuit board having illuminants, which can be mounted in the housing. In order to provide an illumination apparatus whose housing protects the functional components against hard environmental conditions and mechanical loads to be expected and which has a particularly compact design, the housing substantially comprises a base of annular shape, an intermediate part having a hat-like shape which accommodates the circuit board and has a guiding opening for the connection cables, and a lid part which allows a selective outlet of light.
