  • Patent number: 5068523
Abstract: A detector for a laser scanner has an array of detector elements disposed in at least one row and side-by-side in a plurality of columns, wherein each detector element comprises a lens receptive of laser light on one face thereof along a light path from the target and outputting light at the other face. The detector elements also include a photodetector for generating an electrical signal in response to light received thereon. The photodetector is mounted at a fixed distance from the other face of the lens and facing the other face to receive light passing through the lens and a preamplifier is mounted adjacent the photodetector on a common substrate for receiving the signal generated thereby.

  • Patent number: 5054930
Abstract: A high speed scanning system for scanning a moving target. Comprising rotating a polygonal mirror with a plurality of mirrored sides about an axis of rotation at the center thereof directing a first laser beam at the polygonal mirror along a first path intersecting one mirror face at a time and reflecting at a given useful angle to scan a target moving in at least one direction with a first scan by each mirror face in one scan direction, wherein an imaginary line extending the first path beyond the intersected mirror face is offset from the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5006722
Abstract: An annunciator system and method for indicating when the number of detected flaws in a moving web is greater than a preselected threshold. The method and system includes a controllable display comprising a matrix of areas each corresponding to one type of the plurality of flaws and each capable of displaying any one of a first, second and third color. Signals corresponding to different detected flaws are received for controlling the display to initially display all of the areas in the first color, to individually change the color of an area to the second color in response to the detection of a first preselected threshold value of flaws of a type corresponding to the area and to individually change the color of an area from the second color to the third color in response to the detection of a second preselected threshold value of corresponding type flaws, which is higher than the first preselected threshold value.
