Publication number: 20060059820Abstract: A weather-strip construction includes a frame member and a cover member and a weather-strip. The cover member mates with the frame member and the weather-strip forms a weather seal between the frame member and the cover member. The weather-strip includes a foamed sealing portion. The weather-strip is secured to either the frame member or the cover member. The foamed sealing portion of the weather-strip provides the weather seal and extends continuously along either the frame member or the cover member depending to which one it is attached and extends along any sharp corners continuously without interruption such that a continuous weather seal is formed between the cover member and the frame member.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2005Publication date: March 23, 2006Applicant: Intek Plastics, Inc.Inventors: James Peterson, Joel Rhode

Publication number: 20050066581Abstract: A free-floating weather-strip is positioned between two surfaces, one surface having a slot. The slot has a back wall, an opening and retaining edges. The weather-strip includes a longitudinal main body having a weather-strip sealing portion and a pair of leg portions that extend into the slot and engage the retaining edges. The weather-strip is positioned within the slot and retained therein by the cooperation of the retaining edges with the leg portions. A pair of spring arms are attached to a backside of the main body and engage the back wall of the slot. The pair of spring arms provide a spring force that causes the weather-strip sealing portion into sealing engagement with the other of the two surfaces.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2004Publication date: March 31, 2005Applicant: Intek Plastics, Inc.Inventors: Joel Rhode, James Peterson

Patent number: 6041475Abstract: An automatic locking brake shoe device for a double sash window is disclosed which is slidably disposed in the guide channel of the window jamb liner. The brake shoe device interconnects with an associated sash through a laterally projecting sash pin. The automatic locking brake shoe device comprises first and second brake shoe members that are pivotally connected for relative pivotal movement. The first member is connected to the window balance mechanism, and the second member includes a locking member that engages the jamb liner when it is rotated to the locking position. A small spring disposed between the first and second members normally urges the second member into the locking position when the sash is removed. The sash pin engages the second member when the sash is in its sliding position causing the small spring to yield and to attract the second member from the locking position.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1997Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Assignee: Intek Plastics, Inc.Inventor: Michael J.
