  • Patent number: 11013430
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for identifying food chewed or beverage drank are disclosed herein. In embodiments, a device may comprise one or more sensors to provide vibration signal data representative of vibrations sensed from a nasal bridge of a user wearing the device, a chewing analyzer to extract from the vibration signal data a first plurality of features associated with chewing activities, and/or a drinking analyzer is to extract from the vibration signal data a second plurality of features associated with drinking activities. The extracted first and/or second plurality of features, in turn, may be used to determine a category of food the user was chewing, or a category of beverage the user was drinking. In embodiments, the methods and apparatuses may use personalized models.

  • Publication number: 20170085114
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to methods, system and apparatus to optimize wireless charging while allowing FM radio reception. In an exemplary embodiment, presence of an active FM radio on a wireless platform is detected and the active FM channel is identified. To reduce radio frequency interference between the wireless charging magnetic field and the FM channel, the PTU may adaptively shift the A4WP frequency. The disclosed embodiments improve user experience with FM radios in wireless charging systems.

  • Patent number: 9078257
Abstract: Technology for initiating a random access procedure by a wireless device after extended access barring (EAB) is disclosed. The wireless device can release a bar on the wireless device. The bar can prevent the wireless device from accessing a node using EAB. The wireless device can count a random backoff time using a random backoff timer. The random backoff time can include a random time between zero and a maximum backoff time period. The wireless device can transmit a random access channel (RACH) message (including physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble) from the wireless device to the node to initiate a random access procedure after the expiry of the random backoff timer.

  • Patent number: 5889559
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for decomposing and recomposing wavelets with minimum filter delay. The system includes multiple low-pass filters and multiple high-pass filters. Each filter in the system has associated filter coefficients. A filter shift value is selected for each filter such that the sum of the shift values for the low-pass filters equals the sum of the shift values for the high-pass filters. The filter coefficients for each filter are shifted according to the shift value associated with the filter. The filter shift values are selected such that the filter shift values associated with a first low-pass filter and the filter shift value associated with a first high-pass filter are both even or both odd. The system can provide center-aligned filters as well as a perfect reconstruction filter bank.
