  • Patent number: 7042145
Abstract: An electron beam gun comprises a beam waveguide and an accelerating anode fixed thereto. The accelerating anode is connected with the aid of high-voltage insulators and through a cathode plate to a cathode assembly. The cathode assembly comprises a linear hot cathode fixed with the aid of two cathode carriers and a focussing electrode which is coaxially arranged with respect to the linear hot cathode and encompasses it with the aid of a two-sided surface. The beam waveguide is separated from the accelerating anode with the aid of rack panels which rigidly fix the accelerating anode to the beam waveguide in such a way that a space is formed therebetween. In order to hermetically separate cathode and anode parts of the projector, the accelerating anode is provided with a plate rigidly connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 6669989
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for the production of protective coatings on parts. A coating formed in accordance with the invention has a chemical composition and structure gradient across its thickness. The coating is obtained by heating of a composite ingot including a body and at least one insert disposed within the body. As the composite ingot is heated it sequentially evaporates to produce a vapor with a chemical composition varying over the evaporation time period. The composition of the body and composition and location of the insert within the body function to determine the chemical composition of the vapor at any time. Condensation and/or deposition of the vapor onto a substrate forms the inventive coating.

  • Patent number: 5834070
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of protective coatings for parts of gas turbines and internal combustion engines which are to be subjected to thermal loading. A coating formed in accordance with the invention has a chemical composition and structure gradient across its thickness and an outer ceramic layer. The coating is obtained by electron beam heating of a mixture of metals (alloys) and oxides which have different vapor pressures at the evaporation temperature, the mixture and an underlying ceramic ingot being serially evaporated and subsequently condensed on the part to be coated.
