Abstract: A chimney liner removal apparatus including a main chassis, a first telescoping front arm, a second telescoping front arm, a rear telescoping arm, a movable mass and an extendible excavator. The first telescoping front arm is fixedly connected to the main chassis and includes a first hollow member and a first extendible member within the first hollow member. The second telescoping front arm is fixedly connected to the main chassis and includes a second hollow member and a second extendible member within the second hollow member. The rear telescoping arm is fixedly connected to the main chassis and includes a third hollow member and a third extendible member within the third hollow member. The movable balance mass is arranged on the third hollow member. The extendible excavator assembly is pivotally connected to the main chassis opposite the rear telescoping arm.

Abstract: A scaffold system adapted for securing to a structure and for vertical movement relative to the structure. The scaffold system includes first and second wall mounts, each of the wall mounts having a bar and at least one spring biasing the bar in a first direction, a slide post having a slide hook, a slide arm and a hanging pad secured to the slide arm, the slide post arranged for vertical axial movement within at least one of the first and second wall mounts, a main post having at least one post hook, a first deck fixedly secured to the main post, and a ball screw jack having a mounting plate and a lifting screw, the mounting plate secured to the first deck and the lifting screw secured to the hanging pad. The main post is arranged to complementarily fit within slide post, the slide hook is adapted for releasable engagement with the first wall mount bar or the second wall mount bar and the at least one post hook is adapted for releasable engagement with the first wall mount bar or the second wall mount bar.

Abstract: This is a safety rest seat for permanent attachment to a lengthy ladder. A plurality of these safety seats is installed at different intervals on the ladder to provide resting areas for the climber, as needed, as he or she climbs upward or downward. The seat in an active seating position rests upon horizontal, permanently secured seat supports. Once the climber lifts out of his or her seated position on the seat, the safety seat portion will automatically rotate upwardly into an inactive, out of the way position so that it does not obstruct the climbing path. A counterweight is located at a rear section of the seat which automatically causes the seat to rotate upwardly to an inactive position when no downward pressure (or a seated user) is no longer exerted upon the seat.

Abstract: A hood assembly for opacity monitoring equipment including an opacity monitor fixedly secured to an outside surface of a smokestack or chimney includes a hood for protectably covering the opacity monitor and associated guide. The guide is connectable to the monitor in a stationary relationship therewith and cooperates with the hood for guiding bodily displacement of the hood relative to the monitor along a substantially vertical path between a lowered condition at which the monitor is substantially covered by the hood and an elevated condition at which the monitor is accessible.

Abstract: A light assembly for illuminating an industrial smokestack or the like having a ladder attached thereto utilizes an obstruction light and an elongated member having one end which is pivotally connected to the outside surface of the smokestack and another end which supports the obstruction light. The elongated member is pivotally movable between a first condition at which the other end of the elongated member is positioned remote of the ladder and a second condition at which the other elongated member end is positioned adjacent the ladder. The assembly further includes a rod member having one end which is pivotally connected to the elongated member and another end which is positionable adjacent the ladder so as to be accessible to a serviceman standing upon the platform. By selectively pulling or pushing upon the rod member, the serviceman moves the elongated member between the first condition and the second condition at which the light is accessible for servicing purposes.
