Abstract: A powertrain for a pedal vehicle, such as a bicycle, which powertrain comprises a first and a second electric motor and a planetary gear set comprising a sun gear, a ring gear and a planet carrier, wherein the sun gear is connected to the first motor, the ring gear is connected to the crank axle receiving the user input, and the planet carrier is connected to an output of the powertrain for transmitting power to at least one output element, such as a wheel, of the vehicle, wherein the second motor is directly connected to the output of the powertrain.
