  • Patent number: 8757667
Abstract: A connector for a flow managing device in fluid communication with an outlet conduit is disclosed. The connector can comprise a receiving member, an engaging member, and an adapter. The receiving member can be secured to the adapter, which can be secured to a side wall of a basin near an outlet coupled to the outlet conduit. The adapter can comprise a curvature plate having a curvature that complements a curvature of the side wall. The adapter can further comprise an adapter bore through the curvature plate and an adapter conduit extending from the curvature plate and at least partially overlapping the adapter bore. The flow managing apparatus can be secured to the engaging member, which can be engaged with the receiving member. Fluid from the basin can flow through the flow managing device, the engaging member, the receiving member, and the adapter and into the outlet conduit.

  • Patent number: 8757672
Abstract: Various embodiments of a longitudinal fitting or other fluid conduit for a piping system are provided. The fitting can comprise a body including a first portion, a second portion, and a barrier between the first and second portions. The first portion can include a first inner surface that defines a first opening that is sized and configured to receive a first piping system component. In various embodiments, the barrier can be positioned between the first inner surface and a second inner surface of the second portion; the barrier can at least partially define a reservoir. When the first piping system component is secured to the fitting by a securing liquid, such as solvent cement, the barrier and/or reservoir can resist the liquid from reaching the second inner surface, thereby reducing the likelihood that the second inner surface will become damaged or otherwise compromised by chemically reacting with the securing liquid.

  • Patent number: 8701911
Abstract: An electrical enclosure for use in poured concrete construction having a peripheral wall with opposed longitudinally extending walls longer than opposed laterally extending walls and at least one physical support located substantially midpoint along the opposed longitudinally extended walls to resist deflection of the opposed longitudinal walls caused by the hydraulic pressure of concrete poured around the enclosure. The physical support can be a crossbar extending across the opening of the electrical enclosure with the ends of the crossbar fixed to the longitudinally extending walls. The physical support can also be fastening sleeves extending along at least a portion of the width of the longitudinal walls for receiving elongated fasteners which extend into the concrete form thereby resisting deflection of the opposed longitudinally extending walls.

  • Patent number: 8177086
Abstract: A stand for an electrical box is provided to maintain an electrical box having at least one hub a predetermined distance from a concrete form prior to and during the concrete being poured. The stand has extensions with ribs thereon at different longitudinal positions from the base permitting the electrical box to be supported by the stand at different heights with respect to the concrete form to permit access to the hubs of the electrical box with electrical tubing and to accommodate concrete slabs of different thicknesses using the same height of electrical box. The electrical box and stand assembly have a locking mechanism to lock the electrical box to the stand at the selected predetermined distance from the form. The locking mechanism has hooks which engage indentations on mounting tabs of the electrical box. The mounting tabs have grooves which guide the hooks to the indentations.

  • Patent number: 8128126
Abstract: A coupling device formed of two identical sides is disclosed. Each of the two sides have a snap fitting mechanism which engage each other to releasably secure the sides together thereby forming the coupling device. The coupling device as formed has a main body communicating with at least two openings. Each opening is sized to engage an end of a corresponding conduit. Generally, the conduits are corrugated such that the openings engage one corrugation to form the friction fit. The openings may be conically shaped with pre-scored cut lines that can be cut at different diameters to engage conduits of different diameters. The openings of the coupling device have pre-score cut lines that may be cut in order to create the friction fit with corrugated conduits having different diameters.
