  • Patent number: 9394674
Abstract: Plumbing outlet boxes, such as for connecting washing machines, ice makers, and other plumbed appliances to plumbing systems, are provided that can be attached to each other without the use of separate connectors or mounting brackets. In particular, plumbing outlet boxes are described that include receiving features and mounting tabs extending outwardly from the side walls. The receiving features and mounting tabs are arranged such that the plumbing outlet box has rotational symmetry. In this way, receiving features may be engaged with mounting tabs of an adjacent plumbing outlet box regardless of the relative orientation of the mating plumbing outlet boxes.

  • Publication number: 20150308090
Abstract: An air admittance valve which when subjected to a negative pressure condition vents a pipe system to an ambient environment. Generally, the air admittance valve includes a housing, a cartridge, and a sealing member. The housing includes one or more vents disposed in its wall and may be engaged with the pipe system at one end. The cartridge may have one or more inlets defining one or more inlet openings, where the one or more inlets is connected to a central chamber that has an opening with a sealing structure. The sealing member interacts with the sealing structure of the cartridge to allow one-way airflow from the central chamber to the pipe system. The cartridge and sealing member may be inserted into the housing such that the one or more inlet openings substantially align with the one or more vents in the housing.

Abstract: An injection joint for a socket and pipe end pipe joint, which includes a socket, a pipe end inserted into the socket with a gap therebetween, and an flange ring capping the socket. Flange rings are disclosed which include an injection port and/or a slit. Injection joints may provide a recess in the pipe OD into which the flange ring is received, the recess functioning to stop travel of the flange ring during injection and widening the gap to facilitate adhesive travel. The split in the ring facilitates mounting the ring into the recess and functions as exit port.

  • Publication number: 20130026752
Abstract: The invention is a pipe joint that is particularly suitable for joining pipes composed of materials having a low surface energy and excellent resistance to solvents. The major components are an extrudable adhesive; a first pipe having a socket with an inside diameter, where said socket has a mouth, a self-centering bottom, and a substantially cylindrical wall with an inlet, an outlet, and an inner annular channel; a second pipe having an insertion section with an end and an outer annular channel, said second pipe having an outside diameter that is less than the inside diameter of the socket, where the difference in diameters defines a gap and where the outer annular channel lines up with the inner annular channel therein forming an interlocking keyway; and a flanged annular ring, where said annular ring has an inside diameter that enables it to be slid over the second pipe and a thickness that is comparable to the gap, and where the flange has a width that is sufficient to cap the mouth of the socket.

  • Publication number: 20130020796
Abstract: An integral one-piece roof flashing for preventing moisture from passing between a vent pipe and a roof. The flashing, preferably of plastic, includes a base having an aperture and a laterally-extending planar flange with a raised center portion. An upstanding outer sleeve is joined to the center portion by a flexible corrugated portion of the flashing. A downwardly-depending inner sleeve has a top end joined to the distal end of the outer sleeve, extends into the outer sleeve, and is adapted for receipt into the top end of the vent pipe. The corrugated portion flexes to allow the outer sleeve to be angled up and down the pitch direction of the roof, side to side, and to extend to accommodate different roof pitch angles and vent pipe heights. A scale on the base allows the vent pipe height to be measured to ensure that it is within acceptable limits.

  • Patent number: 8256467
Abstract: A plug having a pressure release valve for releasing excess pressure within a bladder of the plug. The release valve has a valve core with a pressure release passage therethrough with an inlet in fluid communication with an interior void of the bladder and an outlet in fluid communication with the external environment outside the bladder. An elastomeric seal under hoop stress about a portion of the valve core seals the outlet until overinflation of the bladder causes the seal to become elastically deflected and unseal the outlet, thereby allowing excess pressure to be released. When the overinflation no longer exists because of the pressure release, the hoop stress of the seal causes resealing of the outlet. An inflation valve may also be provided to inflate the bladder, and with the inlet opening into an inflation passageway into the bladder's interior.
