  • Patent number: 5590152
Abstract: Two upper electrodes 16 and 17 are horizontally spaced apart from each other with a predetermined distance and vertically extend through a furnace roof 3 of a furnace shell 2. Upper conductors 20 and 21 are connected to the upper electrodes 16 and 17 and extend in a direction away from the upper electrodes 17 and 16, respectively. Two lower conductors 22 and 23 are connected to a lower electrode 1 and extend in directions along which the upper conductors 20 and 21, respectively. Power source circuits 24 and 25 are arranged between extension ends of the upper and lower conductors 20 and 22 and 21 and 23, respectively. Arcs 12a and 12b generated between the upper electrodes 16 and 17 and the lower electrode 1 are directed to a center of the furnace shell 2.

  • Patent number: 5564572
Abstract: Waste paper stock pulp slurry supplied through a stock inlet is separated at screening sections to a high quality stock and a reject containing contaminants and undefibered waste paper. The high quality stock is sent to a next stage as accept. The reject is sent to a defibering section and is diluted after defibration, part of the reject being circulated to the screening sections, the remainder being discharged out of the system through a reject outlet. Provision of screening and defibering sections in one and the same screen can satisfy contradictory requirements, i.e., to increase contaminant removing efficiency, to raise production yield and to attain space- and cost-saving.

  • Patent number: 5505883
Abstract: Water to be cooled is sprayed through water spray ports at a bottom of an upper water vessel into a filler unit having a plurality of heat exchange surface members extending in parallel with each other to define flow passages between them and concurrently ambient air is sucked transversely into the flow passages. Thus, the water flowing down over the heat exchange surface members is cooled by the ambient air in a cross flow manner. In such cooling of water, some of the flow passages are sectioned so as to supply the water in the upper water vessel to some of flow passages so that in a normal condition with no fear of white smoke being generated, the water is sprayed over all of the heat exchange surface members and direct cooling is effected in every flow passage by the ambient air.

  • Patent number: 5503493
Abstract: Synthetic resin structural members are inserted into a hollow joint member to abut each other in the joint member. A bearing-pressure damping member is fitted into each of bolt holes on the members, axes of bolts extend alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions. The structural members and the hollow joint member are secured with bolts and nuts. Due to damping action resulting from elastic deformations of the damping members, a load is substantially evenly distributed over the whole bolts to prevent concentration of the load to some of the bolts. The arrangement of the bolts with their axes extending alternately in two mutually perpendicular directions will shorten the length of the joint member.

  • Patent number: 5468194
Abstract: A power transmission shaft which transmits rotational energy of a flywheel is divided into a first shaft section adjacent to the flywheel and a second shaft section adjacent to a power take-off gear. A planetary gearing is arranged between the shaft sections and is adapted to be driven by a servo motor. A power take-off gear is mounted on an output section of the planetary gearing so as to transmit the power to drives. The servo motor controls the rotation of the output section of the planetary gearing to vary the rotation of the power take-off gear so that the action velocity of the slide or the like can be freely controlled and press working for different kinds of materials can be carried out.

  • Patent number: 5377649
Abstract: Oil feed and discharge lines (34) and (35) are respectively connected between an engine (15) and an external oil feed type engine-driven supercharger (I) so as to circulate a lubricating oil (0) between them. The lubricating oil (0) used in the engine (15) is fed through the oil feed line (34) to the supercharger (I) while the lubricating oil (0) used in the supercharger (I) is returned through the oil discharge line (34) to the engine (15). As a result, the lubricating oil and associated parts exclusively for the supercharger can be eliminated.
