Abstract: The peristaltic pump is provided with a two-piece housing (2, 3), in which a conveying member (1) as well as a pump tubing section (6) squeezable by the conveying member is received. For fixing the pump tubing section (6) in the housing (2, 3), a tubing holder (4) is provided. Further provided is a connecting element (5) provided with duct shaped connecting sockets (14a, 14b) for connecting tubing sections (15a, 15b). For connecting the pump tubing section (6) to the tubing holder (4), the two ends of the particular pump tubing section (6) are fixed in receptacles (10a, 10b) of the tubing holder (4), which positively enclose the outside of the pump tubing section (6). The connecting element (5) is fixed to the tubing holder (4) by means of a snap-on connection. Thereby, the connecting sockets (14a, 14b) thereof are sealingly connected to the particular pump tubing section (6).

  • Publication number: 20070128087
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for automated bioreactor sampling connected to a reactor comprising a sampler, at least one tube fluidly connecting said reactor with said sampler and a pump for pumping fluids from said reactor to said sampler and vice versa. Particularly simple and essentially dead volume-free sampling can be achieved by providing means for flushing at least parts of the tube with gas/sterile air between individual sampling steps. The invention furthermore relates to a method of operation of such a device.

  • Patent number: 7214038
Abstract: A hose cartridge for a peristaltic pump comprises a cartridge housing provided with a lateral recess. The recess is delimited at least partially by an element having essentially the shape of a segment of a circle. A roller wheel of the peristaltic pump can engage that recess once the cartridge is attached to the peristaltic pump. The cartridge housing is provided with two support arms, and a groove extends from one of the support arm along three outer side faces of the cartridge housing to the other support arm. The ends of the support arms are provided each with a hose take-up member for retaining stoppers attached to a hose section. Such a hose cartridge is of very compact design ensures an easy handling.

  • Patent number: 4568520
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing a series of samples of a mixture comprises a continuous filter strip on a roll and means for advancing the filter strip along a predetermined guide path. A suction head is located below the guide path and a bell member above the guide path at a point opposite to that of the suction head. The bell member is capable of being raised and lowered so that a portion of the filter strip is sealed between the bell member and suction head when the bell member is in the lowered position. Feeding means are provided through which samples of the mixture are conveyed from a sample vessel, through the bell member and onto the filter strip when the bell member is in the lowered position. A stamping device is located downstream the bell member whereby portions of the filter strip supporting the sample are stamped out in disc form. The disc is received within a receiving vessel. Reagent fluid supplied to the disc through a needle.
