  • Patent number: 6454439
Abstract: A light assembly (20) that includes a frame (28) and a body (22) disposed within the frame. A reflector (26), a socket (46) and a bulb (24) are disposed in the body. A lens (30) is fitted over the reflector, socket and bulb. The lens is snap fitted in a bezel ring (32). The bezel ring is snap fitted over to the body so as to be positioned around the reflector. The body is snap-fitted to the frame. An assembler of the light assembly of this invention can maintain a stock of frames, bodies and bezel rings that have different colors or other characteristics, such as on/off switches. Upon receiving an order for a light assembly in which the specific characteristics of the color are specified, the assembler selects the appropriate components from stock and assembles them together to provide the desired assembly.

  • Patent number: 5615631
Abstract: Ski tow assembly for being secured to the transom of a boat. The ski tow fixture has an elongated vertically aligned body. Legs at the opposed ends of the fixture body secure the fixture to the transom. The body is further formed so as to define an elongated generally elliptically shaped opening through which a tow line is inserted. The tow line is coupled over a finger that extends diagonally upwards toward the transom from a small tap attached to a lower part of the fixture and that projects inwardly toward the transom. The assembly includes opposed rails that are mounted to the transom that are coupled to the opposed ends of the fixture by ears that extend outward from the ends of the fixture.

  • Patent number: 5588908
Abstract: A fitting for securing a hose to a port formed in a support panel. The fitting includes a face plate that is fitted over the port. A set of spaced apart lock tabs extend inwardly from the face plate. A set of fingers also extend inwardly from the face plate. The fingers are located adjacent to and diametrically outwardly from interstitial gaps between the lock tabs. The hose is secured around the lock tabs and in the interstitial gaps. When the hose-and-fitting assembly is secured in a port, the fingers both lock the fitting in position and compression secure the hose to the fitting.

  • Patent number: 5272603
Abstract: A light fixture, particularly adapted for use in vehicles, including land recreational vehicles and boats, comprises a base fixable on a mounting surface of a vehicle and including provision for mounting a lamp to shine forward from the base. A light transmitting lens mounts in front of the base for covering a lamp mounted on the base. The lens is convexly shaped and laterally overhangs the base with a peripheral portion adapted to lie close to the mounting surface at a height less than the height of the base. The lens has a central portion extending from the peripheral portion and overlapping the base for transmitting light from a lamp on the base. A lamp actuating switch is located on the base under the lens and upon depression of the lens by the user changes the state of the switch and the condition of illumination of the light fixture.

  • Patent number: 4976212
Abstract: A portlight for installing at an opening in a wall of a boat, comprising an interior frame surrounding an open viewing area. The interior frame comprises an axially extending spigot for outward insertion in an opening in a wall of a boat and an interior flange extending radially outward from the spigot to overlap the interior face of the wall of the boat. An exterior frame surrounds an open viewing area. Plural fasteners fixedly clamp, between the interior flange and exterior flange, the rim of the opening in the wall of the boat. A pair of widely-spaced holes through the interior flange receive screw means for biting into the adjacent wall of the boat and thereby temporarily fix the interior flange on the wall of the boat to allow a single installer to place the exterior flange and install the plural fastener means and thereby clamp the exterior flange and interior flange on the rim of the opening in the wall of the boat.

The shroud includes a hollow part and a flange, both arranged substantially concentrically relative to a central axis of the lamp. The hollow part is adapted to receive the lamp therein, and the shroud flange is axially received within a transparent lens such that it is surrounded by an axially projecting lip upstanding from the lens. A gasket is disposed axially against the shroud flange opposite the lens so as to axially overlap both the shroud flange and the lip of the lens. An arrangement is provided for securing the lens, shroud flange and gasket to a watercraft hull, with the lamp and the hollow part of the shroud received in an opening in the hull. Structure is provided on the lens to retain thereon a decorative bezel arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4738216
Abstract: A rope anchor for use in situations in which frequent attachment and removal of the rope is required. The anchor has a U-shaped bracket which is secured to a support such as the transom of a boat. The bracket has a central finger midway between and parallel to the bracket legs. The portion of the finger adjacent its attachment to the closed end of the bracket is in the same plane as the bracket legs but the inner end of the finger is bent out of this plane at a minor angle. The legs have stops which position the bracket such that the end of the finger is so spaced from the surface of the bracket support as to create a passage for the rope less than the normal diameter of the rope but large enough to permit the rope to be passed through it when the rope has been diametrically squeezed in one direction. This prevents inadvertent release of the rope when it is slack.
