  • Patent number: 4696018
Abstract: Digitized FM signals are fed to a sample-and-hold circuit followed by a first sampling stage which is clocked by a second sampling signal whose frequency is an integral multiple of the frequency of a first sampling signal. The output of the first sampling stage is coupled to the input of an interpolating filter which is clocked by the second sampling signal, and whose output is sampled in a second sampling stage clocked by the second sampling signal. The output of the second sampling stage is coupled to the inputs of two zero-crossing detectors each of which drives a group-delay-controlled monostable multivibrator. The output signals of the latter are added with an average-value compensation signal in an adder whose output is sampled in a third sampling stage clocked by the second sampling signal, and fed to a digital conversion filter clocked by the first and second sampling signals and a third sampling signal.

  • Patent number: 4683548
Abstract: The adder/subtracter disclosed sums a plurality of n-digit binary-coded numbers (A, B, C . . . Z) successively by forming corresponding partial sums (Sb, Sc . . . Sz) according to the following recursive formula:A+B+C . . . +Z=((A+B)+C) . . . +Z=(Sb+C) . . . +Z=Sc . . . +Z=Sz.The partial sums are formed by means of parallel adders/subtracters which, in turn, include adder/subtracter stages. Each of the stages is formed by a full adder and a switching section which forms the ones complement of the subtrahend in case of subtraction. The inputs of the parallel adder/subtracter for the first partial sum are preceded by series-connected like delay elements beginning with the second lowest weight and increasing by one from weight to weight, the delay provided by the delay elements being equal to the time required to generate the carry of the full adder.

  • Patent number: 4683363
Abstract: Dopants in semiconductor bodies which have been deactivated during processing are reactivated by pulse heating the body to a temperature within the region in which the semiconductor sheet resistivity decreases with increasing anneal temperature. Typically this comprises raising the body to 1000.degree. C. within 40 seconds or less in an inert atmosphere and allowing it to cool immediately or within approximately 30 seconds. The heating is so rapid that diffusion side effects are minimized. Pulse heating may be achieved by means of a sealable microwave heating chamber (1) which can be pressurized or vented as desired and into which microwave energy is directed for a predetermined time. The microwave heating can also be employed for other processing, particularly high pressure oxidation of silicon.

  • Patent number: 4675819
Abstract: For the generation of a vehicle reference speed to serve as the reference value for the control of brake slip and/or traction slip in automotive vehicles, the rotational behavior of the controlled wheels is measured. The vehicle reference speed is defined by virtue of the rotational behavior of the individual wheels by way of logic combining, selection according to predetermined criteria and/or comparison with predetermined limit values. The wheel rotational behavior of each wheel is evaluated in comparison to the wheel-related vehicle reference speed (V.sub.Ref) according to several predefined criteria is then classified into reference-defining periods. As a function of ascertained reference-defining period, a vehicle reference value (b.sub.fzg) related to the individual wheel is determined which, together with the wheel-related vehicle reference values of the other wheels, determines the vehicle reference speed.

  • Patent number: 4671066
Abstract: A hydraulic power booster, for the actuation of a master cylinder in an automotive vehicle brake system, in which a booster piston and a brake valve are essentially arranged in parallel with the booster piston. In dependence on the actuation force applied to the brake system, a hydraulic pressure may be developed in a booster chamber which is essentially defined by a pedal-operable piston rod and by the booster piston. In order to supply at least the required absorption volume to the brake actuating devices without considerable reaction force at the brake pedal, the piston rod may be supported at the booster housing, against an actuating force. The booster piston is positively connected with the piston rod so as to enable a limited relative displacement between the booster piston and the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4665702
Abstract: A supply tank for supplying fluid to a tandem master brake cylinder of a motor vehicle. The tank has a bottom section and a top section which is not shown. The bottom section comprises a partition wall which separates the two chambers from each other, the partition wall being formed with a passage which is arranged approximately in the center of the bottom section. In each chamber, an outlet is configured at each end of the bottom section. From each outlet and along the partition wall toward the middle of the bottom section, there extends one pipe which has an opening respective at its free end. The openings are positioned below the minimum admissible fluid level. The purpose achieved by the configuration of the pipes within the supply tank is that the effect of an inclination of the supply tank does not impair the efficiency of the hydraulic fluid and that, consequently, the outlets are supplied with hydraulic fluid at all times and in any condition.
