    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing a granular detergent composition or component having a bulk density of at least 500 g/l. The process disclosed herein comprises the steps of (i) providing an aqueous solution of a surfactant (ii) adding one or more water-soluble salts to the aqueous surfactant solution to precipitate the surfactant, (iii) separating the resulting precipitate, and (iv) drying the product.
